I watched the original high quality version of LOOK on Ryan Pickett Productions dot com. The cinematography shone clear in the high quality version. So, I really understood the film on a different level with the clarity, and I loved the vibrancy. The score is really soothing and chilling. The romantic violin made me nervous of the unstable waitress, while at the same time leaving me relaxed to watch the beautiful picture. The film is really a work of art by a freshly budding cast and crew. The debut of this group of people working together made me think that something just clicked, like the artistic chemistry amongst everyone was very genuine. This film visually describes what art could mean. The lack of dialog works with this form of art because sometimes the words are what take away from the compatibility that people have. The fact that the only verbal exchange is between the waitress and the supermodel shows the premonition of the conflict to come between these two characters. The waitress has a couple voice over lines, and again, these lines show that the waitress has an inner discord. LOOK asks what art is... a beautiful model / muse? a tortured female? and perhaps an imaginary lover? Art should really leave viewers with a question, and LOOK surely leaves me with questions indeed.
