Just as Wonder Woman was an improvement over New Frontier (good story, mediocre animation), I felt that Green Lantern was DC's best effort yet in terms of design and animation - it had some really nice fluid movement. Public Enemies feels like a rushed job. As an admirer of Ed McGuiness' art in the graphic novel upon which this DVD is based, I felt like they didn't have the conviction to stay true to the designs. It's like McGuiness art has been homogenized, put through a blender with 'Super Friends' and the result is blandness. The story is not really even worth mentioning (it's pretty much all fighting) except that they cut out some juicy stuff from the comic, yet kept the most ridiculous element. I like action as much as the next guy but I couldn't enjoy it because the animation kind of took away from it. I realize not everyone is such a stickler for animation but I was very disappointed.
