Eclipse and Full Moon, 1 November 2007
Author:
lbeirich from United States
This episode features a crime committed during a full solar eclipse.
Later in that same day, a full moon appears in the sky over the city.
It's not possible to have a solar eclipse and a full moon on the same
day. Solar eclipses occur during the new moon phase, when the moon is
between the earth and the sun and the moon is in position to block the
sun from view along a narrow path across the earth. A full moon occurs
when the sun and moon are on opposite sides of the sun and the moon is
in full sunlight as viewed from the earth. An eclipse and a full moon
must be separated by about two weeks. By the way, the last full solar
eclipse visible from the United States was in 1979, I believe.
