Trivia:

The free-fall sequence seen in the film was performed by the actors doing indoor skydiving. This utilizes a vertical wind tunnel (VWT) which shifts air up through a vertical column wind tunnel at about 120 mph. People can fly through the air without having to skydive or parachute. As a person floats in mid-air, their action is so described as body flight or bodyflight. This activity is a legitimate pastime similar to sky-diving and is also used as training for that sport.

Goofs:

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Bond uses a Walther PPK pistol throughout the movie. If Quantum of Solace is set immediately after Casino Royale, Bond would still be using a Beretta, as Q Branch is yet to have assigned Bond the Walther PPK. However, there is no reason an MI6 armorer could not have switched Bond from his previous Walther P99 to the PPK before he shoots Mr White at the end of Casino Royale. We do not see his sidearm, only the H&K UMP he uses to kneecap White (which he still has in Quantum). He could have had said PPK on him the whole time.

Good, but not good enough

I went to see this on Sunday, thinking that it would be the same amazing picture that was Casino Royale. Sadly, it wasn't. Quantum of Solace still has the action, the girl and the explosions that you'd expect, but it is still missing something. By removing the gadgets, the car (only around for the first 5 minutes) and the improvisation that you'd expect a Bond flick to have, it has removed essentially what is a Bond film and what you are left with is the story. And the story was not that thought out. Many moments left me thinking: "what was the point of that?". The film is a lot darker, focusing mainly on the character seeking "revenge" but was not the film I expected it to be. A good watch, better than anything else at the cinema now, but not as good a film as I thought, and I felt a bit disappointed walking out. At most 7/10 but probably 6/10
