Jill's relapse into drugs leads to tragedy when she suddenly dies from an overdose of cocaine, and Bailey stubbornly refuses to face up to what just happened to her and pushes away his friend Will, and anyone who tries to offer him sympathy. While trying to model Justin in her own image, Julia tries to become acquainted with Jill's older brother, Griffin, who rejects Julia's kind gestures. Meanwhile, Ross encounters roadblocks in his effort to adopt a baby girl for himself to raise.
