Whatcha gonna do? On any profitable TV show, there is always a bad boy. Try having five in one show. Try having all of them at the same time on one show. That's what "The Bad Boys of SNL" is.
Farley, Spade, Schneider, Sandler, and Rock were familiar names on the Variety show front on Saturday Night Live during the early 90s. Many of their antics were acclaimed by young audience members, and this special highlights all of there spohomoric stunts.
Originally aired as an NBC Primetime Special in September 1998 as a lead-in for the 24th season premire, this special was one of the highest-rated specials for Saturday Night Live.
Highlights are plentiful, and the laughs are excellent. Scattered throughout the show are "Weekend Update" commentaries for each actor, as well as some of their best characters and one-time sketches. One of my personal favorite segments was Chris Rock's "Weekend Update" commentaries about Snoopy, the first Day of School, Martin Luther King Jr., and everything else that made him mad. Rob Schneider is shown at his finest as the Richmeister, Chris Farley doing the portly motivational speaker Matt Foley, Adam Sandler's controversial "Canteen Boy," and David Spade's Hollywood Minute and tatoo parlor visit are just some of the other great moments highlighted on this special.
This was a fabulous special put together by the crack staff at "Saturday Night Live." No details are missed, no one is spared, and nothing bad is included. check out this great special! See why they're so bad.
