First Official Photos – The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

26 November 2009 11:21 PM, PST | FilmShaft.com | See recent FilmShaft.com news »

Back in August we revealed the first ever look at The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader via a selection of fan photos which had been taken of the ship in question, today we have the first official photos from the film, courtesy of the official Narnia Facebook page!

The film, which has found itself a new home at Fox since Disney dropped the option, is the third in the series and comes hot on the heels of last year’s The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, which despite the high budget and marketing costs had a measly $55,034,805 on it’s opening weekend and threw the entire future of the series in doubt.

In The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Lucy and Edmund Pevensie (Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes) return to Narnia when they are pulled through a picture of a ship onto the Dawn Treader, a »

First Images From Next 'Chronicles of Narnia' Film

26 November 2009 11:05 PM, PST | Reel Empire | See recent Reel Empire news »

Last I heard, Disney had decided not to make the third installment in their moderately successful "Chronicles of Narnia" franchise. As you all may know, the second entry titled "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" didn't perform all that well at the box office, particularly since the movie costs so much to make. In any case, it looks as if the third movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is indeed in the works as we have the first ever images from the picture to prove it. Read on to check them out! We still have no idea when Disney plans to release the movie, but as always, we'll keep you updated as soon as we know more.

‘Prince Caspian’ star Ben Barnes hopes to be like Colin Farrell (IrishCentral)

11 September 2009 9:14 AM, PDT | IrishCentral | See recent IrishCentral news »

Up and coming English actor Ben Barnes has said that he hopes his career will be as successful as Colin Farrell’s. The star of the new film “Dorian Gray” said that both he and the famous Irish actor started their careers with less-than-desirable jobs, which is why he looks to Farrell for inspiration. "Oh yeah, of course I've mopped up sick in nightclubs before but I'm comforted by the fact that Colin Farrell auditioned for Boyzone – he's just a brilliant actor and someone whose professional life I admire," Barnes told the Britain’s Press Association. "If my career can go anywhere near that I'll be happy." Barnes himself used to sing for a boyband, Hyrise, before hitting it big with his starring role in “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.” "I'd be a moron if I didn't recognize that being in a film like that helped me to get »

Barnes' Musical Ambition

8 September 2009 12:06 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

British actor Ben Barnes has a back-up career in mind if the movie offers stop coming in - singing.

The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian star has been interested in music since he was a youngster, and was part of U.K. boyband Hyrise back in 2004.

Barnes also recorded a track with Colin Firth and Jessica Biel for the Easy Virtue soundtrack earlier this year - and his background in music has set him up for a fall-back career if he ever decides to step away from Hollywood.

He tells Britain's Ok! magazine, "When I was younger I was a quiet boy and I was always into music. My dad took me to see the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney and I was a big Queen fan.

"I was always singing and then this company came to my school called the National Youth Music Theatre which is the company that Jude Law, Jonny Lee Miller and Jamie Bell went through. I did about six years of plays with them, so that was kind of my training ground." »

Henry’s friend, society artist Basil Hallward (Ben Chaplin) paints a portrait of Dorian to capture the full power of his youthful beauty and when it’s unveiled Dorian makes a flippant pledge: he would give anything to stay as he is in the picture – even his soul. »

25 August 2009 12:50 AM, PDT | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

After "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" failure to meet expectations, filmmakers will take different direction for "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader". The producer of the third installment of the adventure movies, Mark Johnson, recently told Coming Soon, "It's a whole new franchise, I think it's really benefiting from it. It's a slightly different look."

Explaining how "Narnia 3" will be different from the other two movies, Johnson said this "Narnia" film has similarity with Ray Harryhausen's 1958 film "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad". "This one is different from the others, it's in that ['The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad'] league and they go from island to island having adventures. I'm very excited about it," he noted.

Johnson later credited his co-producer Andrew Adamson for the idea of a different "Narnia", recalling "Adamson said something that was so smart early on. I had just re-read the book and he said, 'I don't »

International Teaser Trailer for Dorian Gray Shows Its Face

27 July 2009 10:30 AM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

So far I’m compiling quite a list of movies to watch this fall: Surrogates, Armored, Pandorum, Gamer, 9, Whiteout, Extract, Trucker; and that’s just the first 3 weeks of September. Now, I’m adding a new one to my list - Dorian Gray.

Based on the 1890 novel by Oscar Wilde, Dorian Gray follows the exploits of a young man who meets artist Basil Hallward. Hallward paints a picture of Gray and becomes infatuated with him. When Gray realizes that one day that his beauty and lifestyle will fade, he sells his soul to have Basil’s painting age instead of him.

It’s an interesting story, to be sure, and the topics it covered - homosexuality, debauchery, self-indulgence - were highly controversial, even by today’s standards, in the late 1800’s. The novel is still considered to be one of the greatest examples of modern day Western Literature. The teaser trailer, »

Profiling Hogwarts' Teaching Staff In 'Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince'

Before Bill Nighy confirmed he was going to be joining the cast of “Harry Potter,” he wasn’t being facetious when he complained that he was the last big British actor to not be involved in the series. With heavy hitters like the late Richard Harris, Kenneth Branagh and Ralph Fiennes weaving in and out of the series, who can blame him for feeling left out?

The professors at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in particular possess acting talent which comes from the upper echelons of British celeb royalty. Young Americans might not recognize all of their faces outside of "Potter," especially those who are masked behind beards and more extensive makeup. So we've decided to profile the top Hogwarts talents for you here; not their fictional professorships, but rather the reasons you should look for them in roles outside the "Harry Potter" universe.

No Surprise: ‘Twilight’ Wins at MTV Movie Awards

1 June 2009 9:08 AM, PDT | newsinfilm.com | See recent newsinfilm news »

There are awards shows that mean something, and then there’s the MTV Movie Awards.  The Oscars and the Globes recognize talent, while events like the Teen Choice Awards and the redundant MTV show go for stunts and heartthrobs.

This year was no exception as the predictable ceremony unfolded live yet so obviously scripted.  The only mildly interesting moments were categories that somehow didn’t include Twilight or High School Musical 3.  Even Sacha Baron Cohen’s bare ass swooping in on Eminem looked staged.  Somehow sillier was Zac Efron’s heartfelt acceptance of the golden bucket of popcorn after a half-naked man flew into the theater, or Ashley Tisdale gushing over her “Breakthrough Female Performance” win like it meant something.

Twilight picked up five statues, including “Best Movie” (over The Dark Knight), “Best Kiss,” and “Best Fight.”  Kristen Stewart won “Best Female Performance.”  Robert Pattinson won “Breakthrough Male Performance” (no »
