Accidentally a Hit

3 November 2009 5:00 PM, PST | Movieline | See recent Movieline news »

CBS has ordered five more episodes of Jenna Elfman's CBS sitcom Accidentally on Purpose, which has improved upon retaining the ratings from its lead-in How I Met Your Mother. Depending on where your preferences are, Accidentally on Purpose ranges in quality between two of its cinematic predecessors, the oops-a-baby Knocked Up and the oops-a-baby-with-my-gay-friend-in-a-horrible-movie The Next Best Thing. Luckily, Elfman's series seems to be veering closer to the former. [THR] »

A new teaser trailer has been released for DreamWorks Animation's newest 3-D adventure movie, How to Train Your Dragon. Based on Cressida Cowell's 2003 book of the same name, the movie tells the story of a young Viking boy named Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel) who befriends a dragon rather than hunting it down and killing it like the others in his village. Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, and Baruchel's Knocked Up co-star Jonah Hill also lend their voices.

A 'Twilight' Actor As Sid Vicious, The World Series And Gwen Stefani In Today's Twitter-Wood

2 November 2009 4:00 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Halloween tweets were way more interesting this morning since everyone was posting actual photos instead of just being indecisive about what to wear. "Twilight" star Billy Burke took the crown for most authentic, though, with his Sid Vicious outfit. He pretty much nailed the Sex Pistols' late bassist.

"Toy Story 3" director, Lee Unkrich, meanwhile retweeted a few incoming photos he received of well crafted character costumes. Gwen Stefani stood out from the pack in that batch, doing Woody's gal pal Jessie from "Toy Story 2." Then there was Fred Durst, who appears to have put a leg up on December, posting a shot of the Christmas tree he just set up in his living room. Check out all of those, as well as reactions from the World Series, Rob Zombie and John Stamos. They're all waiting after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for November 2, 2009.

Rogen: 'My girlfriend makes me dress up'

2 November 2009 1:20 AM, PST | Digitalspy | See recent digitalspy news »

Seth Rogen has revealed that his girlfriend makes him wear "lame" costumes. The Knocked Up star, who dates director Lauren Miller, said that she insists on him dressing up to celebrate Halloween. Rogen told Bang Showbiz: "I have a girlfriend now and I've entered the unfortunate world of paired costuming. It's not fun. I don't recommend it." The 27-year-old actor continued: "I always end up being the lamer half - it's (more) »

Fake 'Twilight' Actors Looking To Make Out And Baseball's World Series In Today's Twitter-Wood

29 October 2009 4:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

"Twilight" actress Anna Kendrick has a clever friend who's not above impersonating an "Eclipse" actor to make out with unsuspecting prey, so next time someone walks up you at a club telling you they've been filming with David Slade recently, double-check IMDb. Slade, meanwhile, announced an "official" wrap to "Eclipse" filming yesterday, following last week's tweeted wrap by Christian Serratos.

Elsewhere in Twitter-Wood, Rob Zombie noted the passing of former Danzig drummer Chuck Biscuits with a memorial post. The World Series had much of Twitter's attention as Ice-t captured a picture from the stands and Paul Feig pondered the art sunflower seed spitting. You can catch all of that, a Dalek and Emmy Rossum's Ferragamo dress fears after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for October 29, 2009.

'Funny People' arrives on DVD and Blu-ray in time for Thanksgiving

25 October 2009 2:51 PM, PDT | Denver Movies Examiner | See recent Denver Movies Examiner news »

Judd Apatow and Adam Sandler want to come over for Thanksgiving.

Due out on DVD and Blu-ray on November 24th, Funny People stars Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann and comes from the mind that brought you The 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up.

Sandler plays a George Simmons, a popular comedian who is given a second chance at life. Rogen plays his trusty assistance in this sedate comedy. Funny People also stars Jonah, Eric Bana and Jason Schwartzman.

The film will be released in a single-disc edition, a two-disc Special Edition and, of course, a fancy two-disc Blu-ray edition. All versions will have both the theatrical and unrated versions.

Better hope you don't watch this after you inhale a turkey. This film is on the long side.

Jonah Hill bringing new animated series to Fox

15 October 2009 4:13 PM, PDT | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

Jonah Hill will soon be stomping around Seth MacFarlane's territory. The comedian has signed on to co-write and contribute voice work to a new Fox animated series. The show will center on a rich seven-year-old kid who walks and talks like an adult and has trouble adapting to public school.

I'm looking forward to Hill's animated show, but I'm also a little wary. You'd think a show co-scripted by Hill would end up on a cable network. The young comedic actor has developed a reputation for his very blue comic rants and ad lib scenes in films like Knocked Up, Funny People and Superbad. It'll be interesting to see him hold his tongue for Fox and still deliver the laughs.

Jonah Hill Allies With Fox For Another Notch In The Network's Animation Domination

15 October 2009 10:00 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Fox has picked up a new animated series developed by Jonah Hill as the network continues to expand its “Animation Domination” line up.

Hill – who is perhaps best known for his roles in “Superbad” and “Knocked Up” – will be a featured voiceover actor on the show in addition to developing the script with writers Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul. Hill, Mogel and Paul will also be onboard as executive producers. The series revolves around a 7-year-old socialite who behaves like an adult but is forced to attend a public school, according to Variety.

This untitled project won’t be Hill’s first foray into animation. Earlier this summer it was announced that Hill had joined the cast of the upcoming Dreamworks animated film “Oobermind.” In the film, Hill will portray a new hero created by the super-villain Oobermind (Will Ferrell) who has become bored after defeating his previous arch-enemy, »

Universal Releases Synopses for Green Zone, MacGruber, Untitled Robin Hood Adventure, Get Him To The Greek, Your Highness

12 October 2009 6:20 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Universal Studios has released synopses  for some of their major 2010 films and the two that are especially worth reading are “MacGruber” and Ridley Scott’s “Untitled Robin Hood Adventure”. While it might surprise you to hear this, a few people have told me “MacGruber” is going to shock everyone next year as it’s a super-violent, hard-r movie. Also, I’ve heard there are many lines that we’re all going to quote. Did I mention Val Kilmer plays the villain and his name is Dieter Von Cunth? I know, I know–I am just as shocked to report SNL’s “MacGruber” might be a great movie.

As for Ridley Scott’s “Untitled Robin Hood Adventure”, this synopsis is the first real story details I’m hearing about the plot. Since I haven’t watched every version of “Robin Hood”, I’ll let the synopses  do the talking, but I »

Ken Jeong and John Cho Are MVPs in the Next Generation of Asian-American Stars

New 'Green Hornet' Set Pic: Seth Rogen In Costume!

1 October 2009 4:02 PM, PDT | MTV Splash Page | See recent MTV Splash Page news »

Earlier today we got our first semi-blurry glimpse of Seth Rogen in costume as Green Hornet, but we just received a new image that offers a much better look at the actor suited up to fight crime.

Written by Rogen and directed by Michel Gondry ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"), "The Green Hornet" features the "Knocked Up" actor as masked crimefighter Britt Reid, who takes on the criminal element with the assistance of Kato, his partner (played by Jay Chou).

Today's video and photo are some of the first shots we've seen of Rogen and Chou in costume (rather than their stunt doubles), and from what we can tell, Rogen certainly looks to be getting into character as the pulp hero.

So, think Rogen looks the part? Let us know what you think in the comment section or on Twitter! »

First Look at The Green Hornet's Costume

First taste on how Britt Reid will look like in his Green Hornet costume in "The Green Hornet" has been shared. Splash News has posted a video from the set of the masked vigilante adaptation which contains a brief glimpse at Green Hornet's costume. It isn't clear whether the man behind the costume is Seth Rogen or his stunt double.

Aside from exposing first look at the vigilante's costume, the video also displays some on-set explosions. A peek at Kato in his crime-fighting costume is also available to view. The footage from the set can be enjoyed via Splash News.

Rogen's co-star Edward James Olmos opened up earlier to Los Angeles Times that he will play Michael Axford, a reporter for the Daily Sentinel who works together with Britt Reid's father James. "We're the backbone of the paper," he said. "Things go awry, and I end up having to try »
