Plot:

Jackie Dorsey is the daughter of 1992 Winter Olympics Gold medalists Kate Moseley and Doug Dorsey. She grows up with ambitions of winning her own Olympic gold but that ambition seems to come to an end when she has a career threatening injury. The original The Cutting Edge has been a guilty pleasure for over a decade, so of course I had to see the sequel as well. I pretty much knew it would be an embarrassment from the start, and Going for the Gold certainly lived down to expectations.

I guess it would be watchable for really tolerant people (my mom enjoyed it) and it didn't quite manage to offend my cinematic sensibilities to the point where I'd start wishing plagues on every crew and cast member, but it's full of bad acting, REALLY bad dialogue, bad editing and just... ugh. It doesn't have half the charm that made the original movie a favourite among so many.
