- Errors in geography: At around 38 minutes into the movie, when Johnson gives their coordinates via radio to Davis, he says "40.083 North, 25.55 West". That's in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, between Europe and North America. Washington state, where the movie is supposed to take place, lies approximately between Western longitudes 117 and 124 and Northern latitudes 46 and 49.
- Errors in geography: At the very end of the movie, during a picnic that is taking place in Washington State, we hear a news reporter on the boombox radio identify the radio station with call letters that start with "W". Radio and television call letters in Washington state all start with the letter "K" as do just about all U.S. broadcast stations west of the Mississippi River.
- Factual errors: The vehicles in the accident weren't moving nearly fast enough to have flipped, etc. as they did.
- Continuity: After getting out of the river, both Cardin's and the U.S. Marshall's jackets were mostly dry.
- Factual errors: A radio announcement that is established in the scene to be broadcast in Washington state identifies the station call letters as "WKGB". Notwithstanding the fact that there is a real station with those call letters in New York State (a few thousand miles away) there are no call letters starting with W in Washington state, or anywhere in the western United States.
>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<
Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.
- Plot holes: SPOILER: The FBI say they picked up the trail of Chris, Ray and Frank by the river where they found the US Marshall. This is unlikely since the body of the dead US Marshall was sent down stream by the guys chasing Chris, Ray and Frank.
- Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: When the younger Hammond is killed by being pushed in front of the speeding SUV, a careful look reveals him "falling" in front of Cordell, not directly in front of the SUV, so that the SUV would actually miss his body.
