Mary J. Blige, 27 September 2005

She did her thang on "Come Rain Or Come Shine"!! That was probably her best live performance to date in my opinion. And there are a lot of Mary performances I love to death. This performance gave me chills, and made me cry. She put so much soul in this performance. I know Ray was smiling down happy when she sang this. If you haven't seen this special, you need to just for this performance alone. I believe this was released on DVD. I don't really even remember anything else about this special. The only thing I remember was this haunting performance. It amazes me that still to this day, people say Mary can't sing. She has had some bad performances, but her good ones outweigh those. And who hasn't had some bad days?? Whitney, Aretha, Patti, Mariah, etc... have had a bad performance here and there. If anyone still thinks she can't sing, just listening to this would surely change your mind. Someone could say they don't like her voice, they don't care for her or her music, just not their style, etc... But to say she "can't sing" is ludicrous.
