Parents Guide for
Control (2007)

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this new feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes .
Visit our Parents Guide Help to learn more

Sex & Nudity

Ian is shown briefly kissing Annik a couple times. He's seen having sex with his wife once, there's partial nudity, some thrusting and possible moaning, but the scene only lasts a couple seconds.

Violence & Gore

Ian has multiple seizures. Ian commits suicide, the only thing shown is the rope dropping.

Profanity

Strong language throughout. 85 uses of "Fuck", 2 uses of "Cunt"(1 written, 1 spoken) and around 30 other colorful phrases.

Most of the main characters(with the exception of Debbie and a few minor characters) smoke heavily. There is a couple of scenes in which either the band members or Ian are drinking. Ian and a buddy abuse prescription drugs in one scene.

Ian has a terrible seizure just before he commits suicide. The rope drops, Debbie is driving back and she sees his body(not seen, as the shot is from outside the house) and screams. The film ends with a shot of the smoke from Ian's ashes coming out from a chimney.
