Watch This: 'Lars and the Real Girl' Director's Super Bowl Commercial

He may have had a bit of an unfortunate blip with Mr. Woodcock, but director Craig Gillespie has proven that he can make engaging stories out of the mundane and strange -- so much so that he's quickly becoming an example of just how possible it is to make simplicity engaging. He made the world of Real Doll love absolutely wonderful with Lars and the Real Girl, he's helming the heck out of Diablo Cody's United States of Tara, and he made one awesome Super Bowl ad for cars.com -- which you can check out above.

Brendan Fraser Fighting Cute Critters

But, here we are 10 years later, and let's just say I'm glad I didn't put any money on my earlier claims. Fraser has been happy to hang in the kiddie flick ghetto, and judging by this latest announcement, he has no plans on leaving any time soon. Variety reports that the man has just signed to star in the family-friendly flick Furry Vengeance for Summit Entertainment (since I will give credit where credit is due, I have »

The script was penned by Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert, who previously wrote the Billy Bob Thornton and Seann William Scott comedy, Mr. Woodcock. Kumble’s directing credits include Cruel Intentions, The Sweetest Thing, Just Friends and College Road Trip.
