A woman walks toward a closet, pulls the door open, reacts to what she sees, backs away, screams, falls through a window and we see her twisted body lying on the ground later. A man is shot twice and falls back dead. A man is hit hard on the head with a shovel, falls to the floor and is dragged into another room. We see a man's arm with bloody scratches on it, and we see a man's very bloody hands and he is holding a bloody knife. A man looks for a young girl who locks herself in a room: he pounds and kicks the door, and eventually kicks it open (the young girl has climbed out the window). A young girl plays hide and seek in a darkened house, she looks in a closet, finds a hidden door, goes down into a dark basement, hears a noise, the lights go off, she screams, and a man charges downstairs to find her; the lights come back on and he finds her crying. A young girl drawing in a sketchbook tells a man, "I'm drawing you dying." A young girl tells a woman how her mother died ("she slit her wrists with a razor") and tells her, "I hope you don't end up like her." A young girl draws a flip book with images of a woman in a bathtub committing suicide by slashing her wrists, and the last page is colored with a dark red marker representing blood, a young girl draws a picture of a woman falling out a window, and a young girl draws a picture of a man dead with blood around his head. A young girl sketches her imaginary friend and he is represented with very dark, heavy lines. A man digs a hole in dark woods and buries a dead cat. A young girl threads a live beetle onto a fishhook (we see it being pierced, and green goo oozes out). A young girl draws on and squishes in a doll's face and gives it to another girl who is frightened. We see a man and a woman arguing. A man finds his young daughter's doll in the garbage with a badly mangled face. A man yells at his young daughter in a few scenes. A young girl runs through woods chasing a butterfly, comes upon a cave and looks at it as if she has seen something frightening; it is not clear whether she goes into the cave, and if so, what she finds. We hear that a young girl has died from an illness and see photos of her after having lost her hair from treatment. A young girl is very rude (almost threatening) to her father and new people she meets in several scenes. A man playing hide-and-seek pulls a closet door open and a cat lunges out screeching. A young girl stands at the edge of woods looking in as if she has seen something frightening. A young girl falls off a jungle gym but is uninjured.
