Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.
Visit our Parents Guide Help to learn more

Sex & Nudity

Note: The number at the beginning of each section refers to how explicit that aspect of the film is on a scale of 1-10. The fraction at the end of the Frightening/Intense Scenes category is the total sum of all the sections out of the highest sum possible (50) and therefore an approximation of how much explicit content of any kind is in the film.

Sex & Nudity: 3

A woman wears a very short skirt that reveals stocking tops and garters, as well as a short top that reveals her bare abdomen and cleavage.

There is a very quick shot of Goebbels having sex with his mistress from behind (but no actual nudity). The scene is meant to be comical but is still a little graphic.

Violence & Gore

Violence and Gore: 9

Lots of violence, during a shootout in a basement one man gets stabbed in the neck several times, a man's face gets shot to pieces, a man is scalped in closeup and much more realistic and gory violence throughout.

Profanity

Profanity: 7

25 f-words, normally limited to outbursts in a few scenes. In addition, an anatomical insult, 10 s-words, and another 10 religious profanities round out the count.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: 4

Smoking and drinking throughout, including a secne taking place in a pub where a few people are very drunk. Also Brad Pitt's character sniffs powdered snuff in many scenes.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: 7

This movie is very intense in some parts.

Its violence and gore COULD be very disturbing to some viewers.

The opening scene may be intense for some.

The shoot out scene in the pub where several die may be intense for a lot.

Jewish people might find the film unsettling at some points, as it is about world war II and one of the main characters is a survivor of an attack on her family by Nazi's.

An idea of how accurate the TECE (below) is: 5-10 is a little-kid suitable, G-Rated type of film (i.e. Care Bears, Sleeping Beauty); 10-15 is going to be a little harsher, but not by much (i.e. The Incredibles); 15-20 could be pretty high up there (i.e. Indiana Jones), 20-25 is going to pretty darn adult (i.e. The Dark Knight); 25-30 is going to be a film most likely not suitable for anyone under 17 (i.e. Trolls 2); 30-40 is going to be an absolutely, positively adults-only film (i.e. THIS), and over 40 is going to be hard R to NC-17 (i.e. Pulp Fiction). Total Explicit Content Estimation: 30/50.
