Not as good as the classics by Winnie the Pooh used to be

"Piglet's Big Movie", a movie especially dedicated to our tiny friend Piglet. It's grateful to see a movie showing Piglet's heart of gold at its best, as well as it is grateful to see Piglet's friends realizing how important Piglet is in their lives.

However, the movie just isn't as good as the old Winnie the Pooh's classics, such as "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree", "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day", Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too!", "Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore" and the movie "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" itself.

Where do I start? For one thing, the cast voice is entirely different (except for John Fiedler, who was still the voice of Piglet) and this makes the characters's voices and personalities change dramatically, especially in the case of Tigger and Rabbit. What happen to the good old bouncing and joyful Tigger? And what is Tigger without the genius Paul Winchell? And what is Rabbit without his sense of authority and nervous personality portrayed by Junius Matthews?

What else? The humor is nothing special on this one and can't possibly be compared to the classic humor of the earlier efforts by Winnie the Pooh. Besides, the artwork's quality is slightly weak. The artwork's quality in the good oldies have much more "life" than on this one.

Nevertheless, this animated film has some good moments, although in a general evaluation I can't rate it as high as the gold classics. I liked very much the ending of this film, when Piglet's friends are searching for him close to a waterfall and Piglet suddenly appears and rescues them from falling down the waterfall.

Overall, an okay animated movie, but not more than this, except for kids.
