A scene implies rape upon a woman. Although we see nothing, it is later mentioned.

There are a few talks of rape against women.

On several occasions, characters talk about losing virginity.

Violence & Gore

There are many scenes of violence including shooting people with guns, many of them involving children as victims or shooters.

A man kills a woman by hitting her in the head with a shovel. While nothing is shown, it is a very violent scene to watch.

There are numerous fight scenes with blood, guns, beating, etc.

A scene involves chickens being killed and skinned.

Profanity

Lots of profanity including countless uses of the f-word as well as other explicit and insulting words and phrases. Although the movie is in Portuguese, the profanity is translated into the appropriate English in the subtitles.

Almost all characters in the film are drug dealers or drug users. Characters are shown handling, discussing, using, packaging or selling either marijuana (Labeled "pot" in the film) or cocaine.

Many characters (Including young children) are shown asking for and/or smoking joints casually. Characters also casually snort cocaine.

The movie contains an extremely-large amount of disturbing violence.

There is a large amount of point-blank shootings (many of them execution-style), graphic beatings, hold-ups, robberies and intimidation.

Children are shown shooting, robbing and murdering others (including children).

There is a very disturbing scene where a gang catches three children, shoots two them on the foot and then forces the third children to shoot to death one of the first two.

There is a brief rape scene (nothing graphic is shown). For the most part, the entire length of City of God is incredibly intense and frightening.
