It seems like forever ago that I first heard rumblings about a follow-up to “Hostel” director Eli Roth’s feature-length debut “Cabin Fever,” a film that, for reasons that still remain unclear, tickles me to no end. The sequel, spearheaded by “House of the Devil” mastermind Ti West, apparently had a somewhat turbulent production, forcing West to publicly distance himself from the finished product. Is the film as bad as it sounds? If all goes according to plan, you’ll get a chance to find out soon enough, as Lionsgate has scheduled “Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever” for early next year. And while I’d like to say I’m intrigued by the idea, there’s a part of me that knows this picture shouldn’t exist. Here’s what it’s all about: Days after a killer virus consumed his friends; Paul emerges from a ditch by a river. »

Cabin Fever 2 from director Ti West will hit DVD and Blu-Ray formats beginning February 16th, 2010. The film will have a gag real, director's commentary, and making of featurette. Not to be missed, Cabin Fever 2 will start right where the previous film ended. Unfortunately for some high school students "a killer virus" will ruin a prom or making it a lot more bloody interesting at the very least. A trailer is currently unavailable, but a synopsis is.
A synopsis for Cabin Fever 2 here:
"Cabin Fever delivered terror in the flesh but your flesh will crawl with Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, the bloodcurdling sequel to hit horror film. Days after a killer virus consumed his friends; Paul emerges from a ditch by a river. Though his body has been ravaged by the virus, he is determined to survive and to warn others of the danger. However, a water bottling plant has »

So it’s April. It’s the Los Angeles stop of this past year’s Fango Weekend of Horrors. In the midst of experiencing L.A. and being so close to this horror industry for the first time, I’m standing at the Fangoria booth just kind of throwing words around with attendees and colleagues, about movies, music, comics and well, geek stuff.
Up to the table comes the young J.D. Lifshitz, who, now 17, was a 16 year old kid in a short sleeved button down, a baseball cap and surprising knowledge of all things horror (it’s nice when the kids have had some history lessons). After high fiving over many joint favorite films and the fact that we’re both from New York, J.D. tells me about his slasher script, which he’s all gung ho that he’ll make. I tell him if he ever gets »

The "Getting Lost" series is about a Lost newbie's attempts to watch all five seasons of the show for the first time, just as the sixth (and final) one rolls along.
What I Watched on Week 13: Season 4, Episodes 11-14 ("Cabin Fever" and "There's No Place Like Home"); Season 5, Episodes 1-5 ("Because You Left", "The Lie", "Jughead", "The Little Prince" and "This Place is Death")
Indeed, following Lost's fifth season is pretty confusing. I mean, all these timelines! What happened after the Oceanic Six escaped, what happened three years after that, what happened after Ben moved the island, what happened during the flashes... and so, for most of this week, I decided to forget most of my other questions and think about time travel, again. I figured that understanding how this concept plays out further will help me understand all of these timelines. That, and what I said last week »

I Can See You is a film that was completed in 2008 and the movie is now available on DVD. Rich in the surreal, I Can See You is an impressionistic take on the typical formula of: a group of twenty-somethings go out to the bush only to be sliced and diced by the strange locals. Slow in pacing, initially, the music and final act make up for any early flaws.
The film stars Ben Dickson as Richards, a man who has encountered a block in artistic endeavours, Ben suggests a trip into the countryside to find inspiration for an ad campaign. Also, starring Duncan Skiies as Doug, Christopher Ford as Kimble, and Olivia Villanti; each of these characters take a step into a dream world, just outside of New York City. Instead of finding inspiration in the deep woods, the characters find a possible zombie, »

Oh no! Just when you thought it was safe to hang out at the Quick Stop…
Cabin Fever (hosted by the twisted souls Brian Fitzpatrick and Aaron Poole) is the result of having too much time on your hands and access to your local community radio station.
Over the course of an hour, they manage to trawl the depths of good taste, plus throw some music in. How much more could you want from a podcast?… Quality? Oh… we didn’t think of that.
Enjoy! And we hope our cross Atlantic friends can understand the Irish accent

Remakes fall into two categories, "Wow" and "Why did they bother". Sadly, the "Wow"s are few and far between.
For every Zack Snyder's Dawn Of The Dead or David Cronenberg's The Fly, there's five Gus Van Sant's Psycho. Breck Eisner's The Crazies clearly falls into the "Wow" category. A fast-moving, exciting thrill ride that builds to a flat-out apocalyptic conclusion, this Crazies also has a healthy respect for the George A. Romero original even as it goes off in it's own direction.
David (Timothy Olyphant) is the Sheriff of Ogden Marsh, a small midwestern town. Judy, his doctor wife (Radha Mitchell), is pregnant and everything seems idyllic until a townsperson carries a loaded shotgun to a little league game. From that point on, the two realize the locals of their beloved little town are going insane. Government help is Not helpful, as fighter planes and gun-toting »

Hello, and welcome to the first of what will hopefully be a regular-ish column. My name is Aaron Poole, and you may (but mostly likely may not) recognise that name from a podcast called Cabin Fever on this very site. You also may have read some of my articles on NeedCoffee.com. But most importantly, you may recognise me from www.myspace.com/aaronhbp.
If you’re a musician or in a band and have tried to add me as a friend, you have inspired this column.
Whether you think MySpace is an out of date social networking site or think it’s the Daddy of them all, you can’t argue with the sheer volume of music available on the behemoth.
Over the years I have been constantly inundated with spam requests from people, and in a lot of ways it has been an adventure. I have found some »

I seriously cannot contain my excitement after seeing the footage at the Afm this past week. Produced by Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) comes Cotton, a Cloverfield-inspired exprcism movie directed by Daniel Stamm. The story concerns an evangelical minister who turns against religion and decides to participate in a documentary in which he practices his last exorcism. While we already brought you an early look at some stills, beyond the break you'll find the first official hi-res look at the possessed young lady in the film starring Patrick Fabian, Iris Bahr, Louis Herthum, Ashley Bell, Tony Bentley, Caleb Jones, Shanna Forrestall, Allen Boudreaux, Denise Lee, Becky Fly, Logan Craig Reid and Jamie Alyson Caudle. »

Director Xavier Gens, best known within the genre for Frontiere(s), is following up his harrowing little horror film (Hitman doesn't count) with a hearty slice of post-apocalyptic nuttiness, and we have some art and the plot crunch for you.
Synopsis
Director Xavier Gens follows his $99 million grossing ‘Hitman’ with The Fallout - a high concept post-apocalyptic thriller that opens with pandemonium and a chaotic sprint towards the basement of a New York apartment building, just moments before the city outside is decimated…
When a cataclysmic explosion devastates New York, eight strangers take refuge in the basement of their apartment building, a converted fallout shelter designed by their paranoid superintendent Mickey. With just three connecting rooms it’s barely big enough, but with stockpiles of food and water, the group are at least safe from the horrors outside, and they settle in and attempt to fathom the catastrophe that has »

Note: This review does contain minor Spoilers
Cheerfully gory and revolting, Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever is the fun sequel to Eli Roth's cult classic that recently made it's debut on the last night of Screamfest L.A.
Starting immediately after the events of the first film, Paul (top-billed Rider Strong in a two-minute cameo) climbs out of the creek with the virus eating away at him, and he's promptly mowed down by a schoolbus (hardly a 'spoiler', having been revealed in the film's marketing materials).
The bottled water company from the first film delivers drinks contaminated with the flesh-eating virus to a local high school, where likable John (Noah Segan) and his nerdy friend Alex (Rusty Kelley) attend class. John has an unrequited crush on Cassie (Alexi Wasser), but is afraid of her angry kickboxer boyfriend.
By the plot, you can see the sequel is a classic John Hughes movie set-up, »

We first told you about Rider Strong (Cabin Fever)'s new flick The Darkening Sky way back in August, and now, just in time for Afm, the flick has gotten itself a brand spankin' new trailer.
Ezra Buzzington (Halloween 2, The Hills Have Eyes), Charley Rossman (Superbad, "CSI"), Sally Berman (Angels and Demons), Daniel Kirschner, and Lashan Anderson have all signed up to join Strong in Victor Bornia's new flick.
Synopsis
When an alien abduction nightmare is revealed to have been much more than a dream, a skeptical grad student studying the “modern mythology” of UFOs and ETs finds himself confronting an impossible reality involving shape-shifting extraterrestrials, implanted objects, organ harvesting, and humans possessed by a malevolent alien presence unlike anything he has ever heard about... All while dealing with a growing suspicion that he is somehow the center of the aliens' plan.
