A disappointing follow-up to CINDERELLA, 10 March 2002
Author: jellyneckr

CINDERELLA 2: DREAMS COME TRUE is yet another one of Disney's direct-to-video sequels to movies great animated classics. While some of these such as LADY AND THE TRAMP 2: SCAMP'S ADVENTURE have been surprisingly good, this is not one of them. You would think that since the original CINDERELLA was such a huge hit that Disney would have released this theatrically, but then again, once you watch this, you'll understand why they didn't. There isn't a story to this lame sequel-there's three. The first story focuses on Cinderella learning about being a princess, the second one has Jaq [one of the mice from the original] being turned into a human, and the third [and most enjoyable] story has Cinderella's evil stepsister Anastasia falling in love with the local banker. These are only mildly entertaining stories that when added up only equal 73 minutes. It would have been a much better idea if the movie just was one story in stead of three. If you ask me, I think it is about time for Disney to quit making sequels for a while.
