Top 7 Johnny Depp Costumes

1 July 2009 3:00 AM, PDT | From The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news

John Dillinger was as resourceful a Depression-era criminal as the world ever saw. Johnny Depp is as versatile a movie star as Hollywood’s ever produced. In order to play the famously infamous Indiana-native, who took from Midwestern banks when there was hardly anything left to take, he will fittingly let his Tommy gun do the talking. That, and a killer slew of era-influenced attire.

Depp is perfect for the role. He’s as enigmatic a movie star as Dillinger was a bank robber. His leading-man looks are so often compromised for an uglification process that almost always masks the high-cheek-boned heartthrob beyond recognition. In an industry where looks are meant to kill, Depp has been able to wield an arsenal of murderous ‘looks’ that have wowed viewers nearly as much as his off-the-cuff brilliance has as an actor.

With Public Enemies in theaters, it seems a good a time

Year One Review – Philip’s Take

19 June 2009 4:50 AM, PDT | From Atomic Popcorn | See recent Atomic Popcorn news

Year One wants it’s audience to believe it’s Agent Sands at the end of Once Upon A Time In Mexico. The film blindly fires it’s comedy at us, hoping things will hit us and evoke mountains of laughter. Why shouldn’t it? It’s directed by Harold “Egon” Ramis who’s done some decent comedy directing and is responsible for Ghostbusters and Caddyshack. The movie’s headlined by timid nerd Michael Cera, whom everyone adores, and Jack Black, who can be great when he wants to be. The talent is certainly there to make a fun, if useless, summer comedy. Yet like the aforementioned Sands, Year One misses just about every shot of comedy it unleashes.

Year One is terribly constructed together to the point where Ramis should feel ashamed he took part in it. Scenes start, climax, and then cut to the next scene without finishing

Robert Rodriguez to bring “The Jetsons” to big screen

11 June 2009 4:15 PM, PDT | From The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news

Not only is director Robert Rodriguez working on Sin City 2, a reboot of Predator, and even Grindhouse’s Machete, but apparently he’s crafting a live-action adaptation of the Hanna Barbera cartoon, “The Jetsons.”

MTV News is reporting exclusively that the director is hoping to launch the project as soon as next year. Contrary to rumors, the project is not on the director’s back burner, but instead a movie that is soon to be.

“I’ve been developing [The Jetsons] for a while,” Rodriguez said. He added that he is hoping to start shooting next year. “We’re writing the script right now.”

As for any other details on the film, Rodriguez has not divulged. Fanboys screenwriter Adam F. Goldberg wrote an early draft, which has apparently been revised.

With both his violent work (Planet Terror, Once Upon A Time In Mexico) and his “family” films, Rodriguez has proven to have quite an imagination,

Fango Face-off: The Faculty Vs. Dreamcatcher

9 April 2009 6:16 AM, PDT | From Fangoria.com | See recent Fangoria news

I know, I know - why in the world would I choose Dreamcatcher and The Faculty as a face off feature? Because they’re two pretty damn entertaining modern invasion films - that’s why! There are so many differentials between these two films it’s ridiculous. I understand, and openly confess my knowledge. But in the end, both of these are invasion flicks, and both are truly enjoyable pieces by a pair of talented film makers.

Dreamcatcher: Dreamcatcher centers on a group of five life long friends, connected by not only kinship, but a series of magical powers unique to each character. At the center of this mystical gift lies Duddits (Andrew Robb as a child, Donnie Wahlberg as an adult) a mentally challenged child befriended by a young group of outcasts consisting of Henry (Mikey Holekamp as a child, Thomas Jane as an adult) Devlin, Beaver (Reece Thompson as a child,

Rodriguez Set For Futuristic Thriller ‘Nerverackers’

18 February 2009 12:48 PM, PST | From ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news

Along with the much anticipated sequel to Sin City that’s currently in pre-production, writer/director Robert Rodriguez has somehow found space in his schedule for a futuristic sci-fi thriller called Nerverackers.

He will be working with long time collaborators Dimension, who’s past joint efforts include Planet Terror, Sin City and the Spy Kids franchise.

To say this genre is out of left field for the director is an understatement indeed, but it’s even more surprising to read just what he’s aiming for as far as plot goes:

Set in 2085, the story centers on a character named Joe Tezca who is part of an elite unit dispatched to quell a crime wave in a theoretically perfect future society.

Rodriguez’s resume has consisted of mainly horror (From Dusk Till Dawn, Planet Terror, The Faculty) and action films (El Mariachi, Desperado, Once Upon A Time In Mexico). The
