The eviction of Nicole boosted Big Brother ratings by almost 400,000 viewers last night (Friday), according to early figures. The 9pm show, which included the eviction result and the latest house highlights, averaged 3.81m (17.8%) for the hour. The later eviction show, broadcast from 10.35pm, brought in 3.14m (18.6%), a rise from the 2.77m (17.4%) who tuned in for Stuart's interview last week. The two shows had respective audiences of 145,000 (0.9%) and 156,000 (2%) on Channel 4+1. Sandwiched between Big Brother, comedy sketch series The Kevin Bishop Show had 1.88m (9.4%). A Place In The Sun: Home Or Away had earlier averaged a disappointing 1.21m (5.9%) in the 8pm hour. Anne Robinson made Blue Peter legend John Noakes cry during filming for The Weakest Link. The acid-tongued host taunted Noakes about his beloved dog Shep at a recording of a special Blue Peter edition of the quiz show on Thursday night. John presented the children's magazine show in the 1960s and 70s. He grew so attached to the programme's pet Border collie that he was later allowed to keep the pooch as his own.
