The full cast of family comedy Furry Vengeance has been revealed by The Hollywood Reporter: Brendan Fraser will be joined by Dick Van Dyke, Ken Jeong, Samantha Bee and Brooke Shields! This will be Shields' first movie role (to see the inside of a cinema) for ten years, in a plot that sees her playing Fraser's wife. Fraser himself plays a real-estate agent battling a plague of racoons on some prime real estate. Director Roger Kumble previously made the rather good Cruel Intentions (and its awful Dtv sequel), The Sweetest Thing, and College Road Trip. Frankly, it's hard to get excited. But this sounds kind of like an extended version of the Bill Murray bits from Caddyshack, which could work... Y'know, for kids... »

Out-of-nowhere dancing seems a hallmark of Diaz's hedonistic-hippie personality. »

Brendan Fraser, whose latest flick Inkheart didn’t have the best weekend, has signed on to star in Furry Vengeance, a live-action family comedy that Robert Kumble is attached to direct. Fraser will play a real estate developer whose new housing subdivision pushes far into a pristine part of the Oregon wilderness, pitting the developer against a band of angry critters. The script was penned by Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert, who previously wrote the Billy Bob Thornton and Seann William Scott comedy, Mr. Woodcock. Kumble’s directing credits include Cruel Intentions, The Sweetest Thing, Just Friends and College Road Trip. Summit Entertainment and Participant Media are co-financing and co-producing the movie, marking their first collaboration since announcing a multipic distribution deal last week. Robert Simonds (The Wedding Singer) will produce with Keith Goldberg (The Man). Production is slated to start by early summer. »
