A longer version of the scene where Van Helsing and his accomplices trap Dracula in London. This was originally the opening scene to the film. A scene where vampire Val approaches Simon before leading him into the crowded streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras. During the Judas fantasy sequence, Mary walks up to Dracula while he's hanging from a tree. The rope around his neck breaks and he attacks Mary. After finding her father, Mary walks out into the hallway where she meets vampire Lucy for the first time. This was replaced by the scene where the hallway becomes longer and Mary is approached by all three vampire brides instead of just Lucy.
  
  
• The character Lucy Westerman's name is a reference to the character Lucy Westenra from Bram Stoker's book. She is in the movie, as in the book, the best friend of the main character Mina (book)/Mary (movie).

• Script doctor Scott Derrickson tells the story of how he got the job working on this film. He got a phone call from Harvey Weinstein, saying, "I just bought this script, called, 'Dracula 2000'." Derrickson replied, "Oh, yeah? Is it good?" "It stinks!" "So why did you buy it?" "Because it's called, 'Dracula 2000'." Derrickson did the re-write. Derrickson's rewrite was subsequently discarded by Weinstein and the script was rewritten by Ehren Kruger.
