Except in my opinion, this film was ten times better than that one. No, it wasn't perfect. In fact the whole thing was rather shallow, the dialogue cheesy and stereotypical, and just when you think you could never look at another wannabe supermodel, another one's just around the bend. But that's what made it so hysterical! I often don't have much to say about Joan Rivers, but I have to admit the role she played was as true to form as any. I enjoyed the array of cameos (after the fact, as I may know the designer names but not what they look like) and Dominique Swain played a beautiful (if not totally clueless) intern.
I liked the film because it kept me howling and I could actually watch the whole thing without putting a finger to the back of my throat. It kind of made me want to see what the whole fashion magazine industry is really like, if only just a glimpse. I didn't so much like the end, but I won't spoil that here. Watch if only to mock the intelligence of so-called "beautiful people".
7/10 for amusement. :)
