Fabulous--unique experience

I saw this movie in Paris and loved it. I have kept an eye out for it to be released in the U.S., but haven't seen it yet. Despite the fact that the sound track is Spanish and the subtitles were in French and I am fluent in none of the above, the story was very understandable and touching. It's about a teenage boy who grows up in the southernmost settled part of the planet and sets out by bicycle to find his father who left the family for Buenos Aires. This would be a very long, daunting trip by Land Rover. A teenager on a bicycle with no food, no water, no money or goods for over 1200 miles of wild country? For some reason, I remembered that it was based on a true incident, but do not find a reference to that now. Very well done movie. If I could find a copy I would buy it immediately. If I learn of another movie by the same director I will certainly check it out. My score of 9 was only because of the sub-titles.
