English murder mystery show from the early 1960s . Based on the writings
of
the famed novelist of the same name . I can remember watching it on late
night television back in the 70s and enjoying but I saw an episode
recently
and it was actually rather dull and slow moving. Perhaps I got a bad
example
or maybe it just hasn't aged very well. The best part of the show is the
opening credits . A vaguely sinister looking man is shown in silhouette
slowly turning around on a swivel chair with nothing but a dim backlight
and
cigar smoke curling upwards. Wonderful theme music by Ron Goodwin.
