"South Park" (1997)

Whereas most animated shows take six months on average to animate each episode, an episode of "South Park" can be animated within days.

This is due to a mixture of "South Park's" simplistic animation and the fact that it is drawn and animated with computerised vector animation tools Maya and CorelDRAW. These two things put together allow it to be animated incredibly quickly and so episodes often have changes hours before airing.

Season 12 offically began on the 12th of March of 2008. The show is contracted for a further three seasons after this with season 15 expected to air in 2011.

The next season of "South Park" to be on DVD is Season 11 ("South Park: With Apologies to Jesse Jackson (#11.1)" - "South Park: The List (#11.14)") and will be available for sale in stores all across the United States with a release date of Tuesday, August 12, 2008.

In film school, where Matt Stone and Trey Parker met, for their final project, they made a short film called "The Spirit of Christmas," (also known as "Jesus vs. Frosty") where the story was about a magical hat that causes a snowman to morph into a serial killer. Prototypes of the four main boys in today's "South Park" are evident, although voices and names are different than today.

Later, a TV executive commissioned the pair to make a video Christmas card, called "The Spirit of Christmas" (also know as "Jesus vs. Santa") where Jesus and Santa have a "Mortal Kombat" type battle to decide the true meaning of Christmas. Thanks to timely advice from Brian Boitano, the boys stop the two from fighting and save the day. The original video in its entirety can be seen either on the Internet or spliced into the episode "South Park: A Very Crappy Christmas (#4.17)".

When Comedy Central got the video, they asked the creators to do their own show on the network. The original pilot episode is "South Park: Cartman Gets an Anal Probe (#1.1)".

"'South Park' Republican" is a term generally used for individuals who subscribe to the rough set of beliefs and values laid out through the seasons of "South Park." Principally, a "'South Park' Republican" is fiscally conservative, socially liberal, and displays strong Libertarian bents (the show's creators are self-described Libertarians). Major tenets of belief include an emphasis on personal responsibility ("South Park: Butt Out (#7.13)"), general disdain or apathy toward religion ("South Park: Cartman Sucks (#11.2)," et al.), dislike of environmental regulation and paranoia ("South Park: Smug Alert! (#10.2)"), and hatred of effete, Hollywood morals ("South Park: Chef's Salty Chocolate Balls (#2.9)"). The show generally rejects the extremist positions of both right and left, often settling on a moderate stance founded in logic.

The group that plays/sings the original theme song is Primus. The "4th Grade" episodes (which started with the episode "South Park: 4th Grade (#4.11)" and ended with the episode "South Park: Kenny Dies (#5.13)") with the first altered opener was a remix of that song performed by Paul Robb. After that, the theme was replaced by another version of the song, this time performed by Les Claypool's Frog Brigade. Currently, the theme song is a remix of that.

in seasons one and two it's generally agreed that Kenny says " I like girls with big fat titties, I like girls with deep vaginas."

From season three it was changed to "I have got a ten inch penis, use your mouth if you want to clean it."

Then Starting in season six, this part was changed to Timmy saying "Timmay, Timmay, Timmay, Timmay, Timmay, Timmay ******** Timmay!" The ******** part sounds like "livin a lie"

Currently, it has returned to the season three Kenny line.

Somewhere in one of the later seasons, Kenny's line was changed again, presumably to "Someday I'll Be Old Enough To Stick My Dick In Brittany s (Britney Spears) Butt"

According to "South Park: Trapper Keeper (#4.12)." Ike Broflovski (Kyle Broflovski's adopted brother) is three years old.

Mr. Mackey's head is so big because his tie is too tight. In "South Park: Ike's Wee Wee (#2.4)," Mr. Mackey gets high and takes off his tie and his head immediatly shrinks.

Note: This is disproved in "South Park: Proper Condom Use (#5.7)" where Mr. Mackey takes off his clothes to have sex with Ms. Choksondik. He removes all of his clothing (including his tie), but his head does not shrink.

Numerous characters have either altogether disappeared or been mostly retired from the show. This is presumably due to the fact that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have changed the tone of the show over time. Some characters who have disappeared include:

Chef (died in "South Park: The Return of Chef (#10.1)" and hasn't been seen since; Isaac Hayes left the show)

Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo (has not appeared since "South Park: Red Sleigh Down (#6.17)")

Mr. Hat (permanently abandoned in "South Park: The Death Camp of Tolerance (#6.14)" and has not been seen since. However, he was shown briefly in a flashback in "South Park: Pre-School (#8.10)")

Mr. Tenorman (killed in "South Park: Scott Tenorman Must Die (#5.4)")

Mr. Twig (thrown away by Mr. Garrison in "South Park: Chef Aid (#2.14)" to be with Mr. Hat again and has not been seen since)

Mrs. Tenorman (killed in "South Park: Scott Tenorman Must Die (#5.4)")

Ms. Choksondik (died in "South Park: The Simpsons Already Did It (#6.7)")

Ms. Crabtree (killed in "South Park: Cartman's Incredible Gift (#8.13)")

Pip (still appears but remains silent)

Numerous newer characters have been added over the years to take the place of many of these original characters. Many original characters who were barely in the show at all in its beginning (such as Stan's dad Randy) now appear more often.

Some characters had either their name changed and/or their appearance changed. This is presumably due to the fact that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have changed the tone of the show over time. Some characters who had either their name changed and/or their appearance changed include:

Bebe Stevens (wanted her breasts to be one-two sizes smaller in "South Park: Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society (#6.10)" so that the boys in the fourth grade at South Park Elementary School would not be paying attention to her but the plastic surgern would not do that and instead was willing to have her breasts one-two sizes larger but she woud not do that)

Butters Stotch (was seen as a silent character throughout the first two seasons, and was identified as 'Swanson' by Chef in "South Park: Conjoined Fetus Lady (#2.5)". He became a speaking character in "South Park: Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub (#3.8)" and was finally identified as 'Butters'. His role in the series became much more prominent from season six onward. Butters could be heard making a groaning sound in "South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut" as he falls down after the "La Resistance" song, but his voice sounded different then.)

Gerald Broflovski (had plastic surgery to become a dolphin because his favorite animal is the dolphin in "South Park: Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina (#9.1)," but later in same episode, got changed back)

Kenny McCormick (gets turned into a zombie by having worcestershire sauce poured into him in place of blood and embalming fluid in "South Park: Pink Eye (#1.7)," and gets turned into a duckbilled platpus by Satin's son Damien in "South Park: Damien (#1.10)." )

Kyle Broflovski (had plastic surgery to become a tall black guy in order to try out for a basketball team in "South Park: Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina (#9.1),"but later in same episode, got changed back)

Mr. Garrison (had his nose altered via rhinoplasty in "South Park: Tom's Rhinoplasty (#1.11)" but had the surgery reversed in same episode and changed from a man to a women by having his penis changed into a vagina via plastic surgery and had his name changed to Mrs. Garrison [even though he is not married] in "South Park: Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina (#9.1)") though later to be changed recently back into a male.

Wendy Testaburger (had breast implants done in "South Park: Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society (#6.10)" but is not seen with breast implants in any other episode)

Butters Stotch becomes Professor Chaos in "South Park: Professor Chaos (#6.6)," "South Park: The Simpsons Already Did It (#6.7)," "South Park: My Future Self n' Me (#6.16)," "South Park: Krazy Kripples (#7.2)," and "South Park: Good Times with Weapons (#8.1)."

Moses appears in "South Park: Jewbilee (#3.9)" and "South Park: Super Best Friends (#5.3)."

Three of the four main characters have always been Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, and (with one exception) Eric Cartman. Kenny McCormick has a brother named Kevin McCormick, a brother name Kenny McCormick and a sister who's name has not been revealed (Kevin McCormick first appeared in "South Park: Chickenpox (#2.10)" and is seen sitting at the dinner table eating a waffle, Kenny McCormick first appeared in "South Park: Cartman Joins NAMBLA (#4.5)" and is seen being born in the hospital and it is not known in which episode the sister first appeared in).

Kyle Broflovski has an adopted brother named Ike Broflovski (first appeared in "South Park: Cartman Gets an Anal Probe (#1.1)" trying to follow Kyle Broflovski to school).

Stan Marsh has a sister named Shelley Marsh (first appeared in "South Park: An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig (#1.5)" and is seen beating up Stan Marsh in the family house).

From time to time Kenny McCormick is killed, but currently, he will generally survive an episode unharmed. Trey Parker and Matt Stone decided that they were growing tired of the "Oh-My-God, you killed Kenny!" gag and killed him for real in "South Park: Kenny Dies (#5.13)". He later returned in "South Park: Red Sleigh Down (#6.17)" and from then on his death-count has been very low.

In South Park: South Park Is Gay (#7.8) Kenny wears two different parkas, but instead of orange, his first parka is purple and his second parka is pink.

Kenny McCormick comes back to life for good in "South Park: Red Sleigh Down (#6.17)." The creaters, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, brought him back for, as of yet, undisclosed reasons. What was Kenny McCormick's explaination for where he was all season? "I was just over there!"
