More never-before-seen footage of the Na'vi world, Pandora, from the much awaited "Avatar" have been unraveled through a brand new TV spot. The fresh made-for-television promo video was aired Friday, November 6 on Cartoon Network and presents a look at the exotic flowers and beasts found in the world away from the Earth.
A slew of promo videos for this sci-fi movie has been continually made available for viewing pleasure ever since its official domestic trailer was released on Thursday morning, October 29. The latest one was the Japanese trailer. Although shorter than the three minutes U.S. trailer, the sneak peek reeled in more glimpses at Pandora and the Na'vi.
A live action movie directed, co-produced and written also by the "Titanic" helmer James Cameron, "Avatar" follows Jake Sully, a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Offered the chance to walk again »

Remember the “Mamma Mia!” movie that came out last year? The one that starred Meryl Streep and was based on the stage musical, which itself was based on a whole bunch of Abba songs from the '70s? Yeah, well that movie is now the highest-grossing film of all time in the UK box-office, having beaten James Cameron’s “Titanic.” Lemme state that again: “Mamma Mia!” is the highest-grossing film of all time in the UK box-office.
So, there’s gotta be a sequel, right?
“I have heard things about it,” admitted Colin Firth, who played one of the three possible dads who were serenaded by Amanda Seyfried and seduced by Streep in the original hit film.
Over the last few months, we’ve heard rumblings that, although it could be awhile, a sequel is in the works. Streep and Seyfried are both in, but unfortunately Abba may be the biggest obstacle to the sequel. »

Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Pattinson. Photographs by Brigitte Lacombe (DiCaprio) and Bruce Weber (Pattinson). "Not since Leo, circa Titanic, has a young actor been so aggressively beloved by 13-year-old girls worldwide," writes Evgenia Peretz in her Vanity Fair profile of Robert Pattinson (Twilight's Hot Gleaming, December 2009). Peretz is right—and I would know. I was one of those teenage girls who got caught up in the "Leo-mania" fan frenzy in the late 90s. The first copy of Vanity Fair I ever bought was the January 1998 issue with Leo on the cover. I hung Tiger Beat and Teen Bop posters of Leo on my bedroom walls. And after I saw Titanic in the movie theater six times, one of my friends and I even created a Leo Web site, at a time when you could only access the Internet via a dial-up modem. Sure, there were other Hollywood stars that set »

The first “Avatar” TV spot debuts, and it looks pretty cool.
“Avatar”, a live action film with a new generation of special effects, takes us to a spectacular world beyond imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery as he leads an epic battle to save a civilization.
James Cameron, the Oscar-winning director of “Titanic,” first conceived the film 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist.
Now, after four years of actual production work, “Avatar” delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.
Avatar, starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Cch Pounder, Peter Mensah, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald, opens December 18th, »

Read the full article in the December 2009 issue of Vanity Fair. It’s been exactly one year since Twilight, the teenage-vampire book series turned film franchise, became a worldwide phenomenon, launching brooding, reluctant star Robert Pattinson into the celebrity stratosphere. Not since Leonardo DiCaprio’s Titanic era has there been a young actor so rabidly hunted by teenagers and paparazzi alike—enough that mere sightings of him with his co-star and rumored paramour Kristen Stewart make for international front-page news. For the cover story of Vanity Fair’s December issue, contributing editor Evgenia Peretz interviews Pattinson, Stewart, and a host of Twilight insiders for an intimate profile that describes how he landed the role of Edward Cullen, distills the essence of his appeal, and explores his discomfort with the hormone-fueled frenzy he inspires among his fans. Avatar's three main influences: Roger Dean album-cover artwork, furries, and Pocahontas While it was in production, going over-budget and over-schedule and generating stories of crew poisonings and near mutinies, everyone in Hollywood thought Titanic was going to be a disaster. In the end, though, the film proved to be competent and performed more than competently at the box office—12 years later it remains the highest grossing film of all time—so laugh at James Cameron at your peril. But here goes… Have you seen the latest, just-released trailer for Avatar, the upcoming 3D science fiction epic, which is Cameron’s first film since Titanic? It will arrive in theaters on December 18 and some people think it will be the picture that establishes 3D as a permanent and maybe even dominant medium for theatrical films, no longer just a fad or relegated to the animated kids’ table—a tool, in other words, »

I have no idea how you people interested in a movie not based on a franchise, starring giant blue aliens some people say look fake (I’m not one of them but I can their understand point), and the first film in twelve years from the director whose last film, “Titanic”, has not aged well. Fox’s solution is that everyone who has their TV on Fox on Sunday will be aware of “Avatar”. Having attempted “Avatar Day” back in August for the teaser trailer, on November 1st Fox will go for the world record of the largest viewing of a trailer in history. Hit the jump to learn that there is no escape.
November 1st is a big day for sports with a 1pm game (Est) between the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks and Game 4 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies. »

At last, at long last the full trailer to James Cameron's Avatar is among us and far be it from us to say 'we told you so' but... well, we did. Eschewing the more thoughtful, fairytale quality of the teaser and early clips, Cameron has this time opted for a balls-out, adrenaline-pumping, carnage-exalting trailer in the traditional sense and he's nailed it.Many of you were left rather cold by the previous footage, which teased rather than revealed and emphasised the film's more emotional beats - perhaps in a backfired marketing initiative to lure in the Titanic crowd. However, it would seem Cameron has returned to the welcoming embrace of his core audience this time around, showcasing more of the film's dynamic action set pieces and giving a better sense of both the story and the scale of the conflict that's in store. To our minds this only reaffirms »
