As an admirer of Frankenheimer , it was interesting to note that this man hit rock bottom and sky high between his age of 66 and 68 at least as far as my experience with watching his films is concerned. In 1966 came The Island of Dr.M... It sucked. and how!. Then came this mini series in '97. and then Ronin in '98! That was a good mix of varied themes calling for different approaches.
"GEORGE WALLACE" is a MUST must for lovers of good films. One will realize how much of effort has gone into the following departments of filmmaking-cinematography,acting,directing ,lighting and editing. There is original footage from the sixties and seventies, there is B&W footage as well as color footage and there are flashbacks. Imagine the challenge it poses to the makers of this film while ensuring the high quality of visual narration it has to maintain!!! Roger Ebert, Berardinelli and company, guess you folks need to take a look at mini series too in your fabled review columns.let more of the world come to know of such well executed stuff
