- The climax of the film's plot has many similarities to Gattaca's. In Gattaca, a genetically inferior man is destined to die at age 30 because of a heart condition. Solid Snake, a genetically inferior clone, who is also 30, is given Foxdie, an assassination virus that kills specific targets (and will kill him) by stopping their hearts. Gattaca's hero, Vincent, defeats his genetically superior brother Anton. In MGS, Solid Snake, the hero, beats his genetically superior brother Liquid Snake (Liquid only thought he was inferior - Snake is revealed to be the inferior clone at the end of the game, strengthening the Gattaca reference). Both games share a strong theme about not being controlled by your genes. Incidentally, Gattaca was later referenced in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
