Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot

Eugene defends a gang member who accidentally killed his friend during a gang initiation. Finally, Lindsay drops a bomb during a staff meeting, demanding equity in the firm.
Original Air Date: 6 April 1998 Tensions at the firm are still high, thanks to Lindsey's demand to get equity, and to the revelation about her relationship with Bobby. Meanwhile, Rebecca gets into a car accident, which turns out to be staged by an insurance fraud ring, and Ellinor represents a scientist trying to save her ape from being killed by a science lab.

Original Air Date: 27 September 1998 Lindsay gets suspicious when Rebecca seems to be secretly awaiting an important letter - and realizes just how much she was right when the letter finally arrives. Ellenor gets a hysterical call from a client, who ran over a man in the street while drunk, and is shocked to discover exactly who he hit. Eugene is horrified when the body of a man is found in his ex-wife's apartment, and his son is the prime suspect.

Meanwhile, an emotionally unstable Scott Wallace returns, asking the firm's help after being fired from his job, only to get himself into big trouble yet again. Finally, being acquitted of 9 murder charges, William Hinks returns much to Lindsay's horror, who still believes he is guilty.

Everyone is horrified when the insurance company orders them not to reveal that to the boy's parents, putting his life in grave danger. Jimmy, however, refuses to comply with those orders, telling the boy's parents everything - and is shocked to discover Eugene has reported him to the bar, recommending his immediate disbarment.
