I read William Golding's novel Lord of the flies few years ago and I really loved it, still it's one of my most favorite books. Few weeks ago I saw the film version from 1963 and I liked it much too. A week after that I saw the 1990 version and from the start I didn't like it and I was really disappointed - there were too much differences between this film version and the novel, it seemed to me too vulgar and too brutal... But when I saw it for the second time I really started to like it. The actors are really very good and the film itself is really very quality. In my opinion it's very underrated film and I think it's not fair when everyone says "it's crap" just because it's different than a book. Forrest Gump as the film and as the book are also pretty different and nobody says it's crap. I think it's worth to see it and definitely it's not a waste of time. I recommend it for everyone - for people who read Sir Golding's novel as well as for the ones who didn't.
