Trivia:
Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez were having a movie trivia contest on the set one day. Estevez asked Dreyfuss to identify the movie that the line "This is no boating accident" was from. Dreyfuss didn't recognize the quote, despite the fact that he was the actor who said it in Jaws (1975). Deciding that this was too good to pass up, this incident was re-enacted for the film. moreGoofs:
Continuity: During the scene where the police chase the bad guys where they're shooting at each other; one of the police officer fires and hits the bad guy's car rear tail light. But in the next scene as the car zooms by both tail lights are perfectly intact. And then in the later scenes the tail light's smashed again. moreQuotes:
Bill Reimers: [looking in the refrigerator] I don't believe this. They ate all the food and left dog turds in the fridge.Chris Lecce: Don't worry. I'll go to the supermarket. What do you want?
Bill Reimers: Truth and justice.
Chris Lecce: Anything else?
Bill Reimers: Doughnuts.
Chris Lecce: Why not? We *are* cops.

This action comedy is done well mixing comedy with seriousness. An escaped prisoner goes on the run and two cops have to stakeout in a house across the road from his girlfriend to see if he will turn up there. They set up cameras to see anything unusual and they listen in on her for phone calls. Then one of the cops get involved with her and the excitement picks up. Well made and very entertaining. Great film and is more of a much better choice than Star Wars.
