Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

No nudity.

Marion is nude in bed although no nudity is shown.

Marian is seen topless although all that is shown is her bare back.

Two kisses.

There is an Alfred Hitchcock-style implication of sexual intercourse between two main characters, but most people will miss it.

Violence & Gore

Violence is shown throughout the film, mainly punching and shooting, and there is some blood in these situations.

A man is skewered by a booby trap; we see his bloody remains in a "jump moment". There are spears going through his head, and his body. It is fairly graphic

A man's body is revealed to have many poison darts in its back. His shirt has bloodstains around the wounds.

During a bar fight, a man is shot in the face, with blood. Another man is shot in the back of the head and blood dribbles from his mouth (wound not shown)

A man is shot while driving a truck, it shows a close up of his hand covered in blood, but not the wound.

A big thug is taken out by a spinning propeller, splattering blood all over the plane, but we don't see his body.

A thug accidentally stabs one of his allies.

Twice in the movie half-rotted skeletons are shown. They can be frightening.

The end scene is very frightening and very graphic. A man's face melts completly on screen, another man's face shrivels up with blood coming out of the mouth, and another man's head completly explodes on screen, though slightly hidden by fire.

The whole movie is VERY graphic for a PG movie, and would be pushing it even for a PG-13 movie.

Profanity

2 "God D*mn", 1 "Son of a B*tch", 1 "b*stard", 2 "Oh my Gods", about 2 "d*mns", 2 "hells", one exclamation of "Jesus Christ" which is very hard to hear I didn't catch it until I read the script.

One scheiss from a German, not subtitled.

Indy is shown drinking in a bar with the monkey. Men in an Egyptian bar are seen smoking hookahs. Karen is shown smoking once and drinking in two other situations. A Nazi is shown smoking, where after he throws the cigarette in a pipe on a ship.

The first scene is very frightening and intense, where Indy finds a man with a spear through his head and runs from a moving boulder, among other things. Indy and Karen are shown trying to escape from a room while snakes are threatening their lives. The final scene may be frightening for children. It shows spirits floating around which end up killing everyone who looks at them. Everyone is killed by lightening except the three arch enemies. One of them's head explodes and the other two's faces melt away. This scene is very graphic.

As was said above, the movie is very graphic. Parents should be cautious. Although this movie is rated PG it would have got a PG-13 rating however it had not been invented at the time.
