I was about 10 when they used to broadcast this anime in Italy. I never watched the episodes,merely because after school we would have lunch,and during that time my father would always watch the news. Then after finishing lunch,my mom would tell me to do my homework. Frigging homework! I never had the chance to check this anime out,until now! I have watched the whole series on DVD as a 33 years old male! I never really watched a series made 'for the girls' but I don't care,'The rose of Versailles' is so good,a true,great classic. I love everything about it,the story,the soundtrack. The actors for the voices (I have watched the Italian version) are EXCELLENT. Lady Oscar's voice made by an Italian actress is SO good! A very strong but feminine voice. I was captured. I have watched this series 3 times in about 6 months,and every time I was watching a few episodes,I just wanted to enjoy this and shut myself from the world. A truly fantastic voyage,full of intrigue,courage,emotion,sadness,and hope. This to me is the greatest anime ever made along with 'Sans Famille'.
