I've recently seen a DVD copy of this movie, I originally saw the movie when it came out in Buenos Aires, at that time the first episode (the one with Gassman as a bishop)was censored by the Argentinian military government. I could finally enjoy it now, but I miss the one of the women kidnap and I think another one about "a suspect". I think that this copy is the one released in the us, because I see that the American version is 90 min, and the original Italian release is 115 min, anyway it is a great opportunity to review these unforgettable comedy performers like Sordi, Gassman and Tognazzi, and also the beauty of a young Ornella. The black humor of the "sensa parole" episode shows a very actual reality after almost 30 years. The DVD edition also includes one of the black and white episodes of "I Mostri", the first movie of this series, with a younger Tognazzi as a corrupt father learning his son the awful attitudes of a miserable man, this always makes me think about the big influence of Italian immigration in many of the Argentinian bad attitudes towards the law and society. Unfortunately the Italian cinema misses very badly those comedy monsters and such great directors like Risi, Monicelli, Vittorio de Sica among others. I don't think that Roberto Benigni could cover that empty space on the Italian cinema.
