Trivia:

One of the motorcyclists in the race sequence is in fact an unbilled Steve McQueen. He took on this job of a motorcycle stuntman out of boredom after not being in a movie for several years. He was paid less than $200 for his work.

Southern fired fun

"Dixie Dynamite" is yet another fine entry in the Hixploitation genre that doesn't get the attention it deserves (like the rest of the genre come to think of it). Dixie and Patsy are two Southern born and bred sisters living a care free life when their moonshining father is killed by corrupt police. To make matters even worse their home is foreclosed and brought by the mean rich guy Dade McCrutchen, who is attempting to buy up the entire county and even has the police paid off. The two sisters decide to get revenge and go around town causing general mayhem, which cumulates with them robbing a bank.

"Dixie Dynamite" is one hell of an entertaining film. Exploitation veteran Lee Frost gives this a nice pace through out and directs the action scenes with a lot of gusto. In addition the acting is very good. Both Jane Anne Johnstone and Kathy McHaley are very convincing as the two hell raising sisters while Stanley Adams gives a nice and slimy performance as Dade. Hixploitation veteran (and one of the coolest men to ever live) Warrant Oats is also on hand, so except good things from him. The film's score is excellent as well; it's full of down home County songs that fit this movie like a glove. "Dixie Dynamite" is a great film that does a fine job of delivering plenty of Southern drive-in exploitation fun. Overall a solid piece of work that ranks as one of Lee Frost's very best.
