Sex & Nudity

A man and a woman go into a room and it's implied they're about to have sex. However, they're interrupted, and you see the woman covering her breasts with a blanket, although nothing is shown. Some sexual references.

A man and a woman and seen holding each other after sex. When he runs out of the room, his pants are down but you only see it from behind.

Violence & Gore

Throughout the film, the attendants are seen pulling, pushing, or shoving the patients several times.

Cheswick, Mack, and Chief receive electroshock therapy. We see this being done to Mack,. and he is in great pain after it is over.

Mac punches an attendant hard as he is trying to escape. The attendant is then seen on the floor in pain. Mr. Washington then threatens him to put the keys down.

Billy commits suicide by cutting himself, and some of the blood gets on a nurse. When we see Billy, there is a big bloody mess in the room.

Enraged, Mac violently chokes Nurse Ratched and hurts her neck severely. Mack is then punched from behind and knocked out.

It is said that Mack beat up two of the attendants and escaped. However, Mack was really lobotomized and has to live as a vegetable for the rest of his life. Chief does not want to see his friend like this, so he smothers him with a pillow and kills him. The after effect shows a man dead with his eyes open and a ghastly expression upon his face.

Profanity

About 25 F words and other milder swear words sprinkled throughout. Also one use of the word "Cunt"

Mack smokes while he being evaluated.

Several characters such as Harding are seen smoking sporadically.

Cheswick gets upset when he can't have his cigarettes and he throws a fit.

A character asks why their cigarettes were rationed.

Mack's friends bring many bottles of alcohol into the ward. Many characters are later seen drinking. Mack and Chief end up passing out on the floor.

The electroshock therapy scene is quite intense.

Several patients start to get emotionally disturbed which can be intense.

Scenes listed under the violent category can be considered intense.
