January Jones, beer-pong: These are a few of my favorite things

1 hour ago | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Like I needed another reason to adore January Jones. On last night's Jimmy Fallon, the host challenged the Mad Men beauty to a friendly game of beer-pong. Even though she lost (a staggering upset, considering Fallon's 1-5 overall record against the likes of Ivanka Trump and Betty White), she won points for belittling Fallon's watered-down version of the sport. January Jones knows her some beer-pong. Jones is a Midwesterner, probably more like the Milwaukee gal who was enamored with British accents in Love, Actually than the icy Betty Draper. If her upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live wasn't already a must-see, »

Taylor's Swift glittery 'Saturday Night Live' fashions

17 hours ago | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

It's no secret that Taylor Swift loves pretty, shiny things–and we're not just talking about Taylor Lautner! From this year's Vma stunner to her countless other glitzy red carpet moments (here, here and here), Swift is all about the tasteful bling bling. And for her SNL monologue, aptly titled "Monologue Song (La La La)," she sang, "I like glitter and sparkly dresses but I'm not going to talk about that in my monologue," while wearing, very fittingly, a sparkly Badgley Mischka number  (far left). For her two musical numbers, Swift donned a nude Jovani dress with silver embellishments (middle) for "You Belong With Me, »

How Big Was Gossip Girl's Threesome?

19 hours ago | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

How many people had their Lizzie Maguire memories destroyed by Gossip Girl last night? How bad did Rihanna's interview show up Chris Brown's? And why would Saturday Night Live never dream of pulling a Kanye West on Taylor Swift? The answers—and more questions (about Mad Men, Kate Gosselin and more)—in this week's TV ratings quiz: 1. So, was that threesome good for Gossip Girl? It wasn't bad, especially considering the event was nothing more explicit than three people (Penn Badgley, Jessica Szhor and Disney grad Hilary Duff) not kissing at the same time. The series was up 20 percent from last week: 2.4 million viewers versus 1.95 million, per Nielsen stats. The math worked out even better... »

Ashley and Mary-Kate Keep Their Cool With a Full House

21 hours ago | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

It was a mini Full House reunion last night at the Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine benefit in NYC, which was held to honor the Scleroderma Research Foundation. Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen posed alongside their on-screen dad Bob Saget, who also brought his own daughters Lara and Aubrey. John Stamos was there as well, and he later entertained the crowd with Bob and SNL's Seth Meyers. The Olsens took a break from promoting Olsenboye long enough to support the cause close to Bob's heart, though their latest line is apparently already on clearance. Taylor Swift Does 'SNL'

10 November 2009 7:46 AM, PST | www.actressarchives.com | See recent Actress Archives news »

Taylor Swift's much anticipated "Saturday Night Live" hosting duties were fulfilled over the weekend and Swift did a stand-up job throughout the episode. But, by far, Swift's best moments came early on in the musical monologue she delivered. In her song, Swift poked fun at her penchant for writing about her love life, most specifically for skewering ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas in song...and then proceeded to skewer him. She also alluded to her romance with "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner, which was tied in to getting back at Jonas for dumping her over the phone.Strumming those three chords she knows and singing sweetly, Swift crooned, "You might ... »

Fans Walk Out on Tracy Morgan's Stand-Up Show

10 November 2009 6:37 AM, PST | Hollyscoop.com | See recent HollyScoop news »

Tracy Morgan is known for playing the role of Tracy Jordan on 30 Rock, and prior to that, for being on Saturday Night Live. And when he’s not on-screen, Tracy does stand-up on the side. But if you’re going to go to one of his shows, be warned that it gets a little raunchy and politically incorrect. Last night, Tracy took the stage at Carnegie Hall in NYC to deliver jokes to Manhattan’s finest as part of the New York Comedy Festival. But rather than making people laugh, Tracy just made people leave. According to... »

Taylor Swift Becomes Fearless: Wake-Up Video

10 November 2009 6:01 AM, PST | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

There aren't many true superstars left in the music world. Sure, there are plenty of people who make a big splash, but how many artists can pick up some buzz and then turn that into a sustainable career? When you consider her reach and her ability to diversify, it's possible to say that Taylor Swift is the country's biggest music star at the moment. On this day last year, Swift released her second album Fearless, which expanded on the promise of her self-titled debut and blew her pop-country sound open to embrace every listener at once. It's rare that an attempt to be everything to everyone actually pays off, but Swift's Fearless is the exception to the rule. 52 weeks later, Fearless remains in the top 10 on the Billboard album chart and has sold over four million copies. In fact, the only album on the chart whose sales are even close »

Stuff happens, when you're either sleeping or or living the fabulous and fashionable life we know you have. So we're starting your days with a few tidbits to keep you the sparkling conversationalist your friends expect you to be.

According to TheTorchOnline.com, that kid who runs around naked onstage wasn't the hero of the Harry Potter books, it was actually the old dead gay dude. While it's an impressive argument, I think he should fear for his life, because child fans are a vicious bunch.

Jensen Ackles of Supernatural fame is engaged. To a red head. It's a woman. sniff - hold on, I can finish this post, I'm Ok. It's just I always felt he, Misha Collins, me, and a hot tub were destined to ride out the rapture in a hot tub in Key West.

Robert Pattinson Would Love To Host 'SNL' -- If He Could Write Episode

'That would be fun, but, I think that's kind of against the protocol,' 'Twilight' star says.

Drew Barrymore was 7 years old when she first hosted "Saturday Night Live." Macaulay Culkin was 11; Jodie Foster was 14, and Lindsay Lohan was 17. Heck, this past weekend, Taylor Swift reached an industry milestone when she hosted and appeared as a musical guest at the age of 19.

And the question Twilighters everywhere are asking — especially after last week's hilarious "Firelight" Digital Short — is why hasn't Robert Pattinson hosted "SNL" yet?

"I don't know what the actual details of it," the 23-year-old British heartthrob told MTV News, acknowledging the fans' increasingly vocal lobbying (including Web sites and petitions) for him to follow in the footsteps of everyone from Steve Martin to Justin Timberlake. "But I'm terrified of doing stuff like that."

Yahoo’s Latest, ‘What’s So Funny’ Snags Shira Lazar, ConAgra Foods

9 November 2009 6:13 PM, PST | Tubefilter.tv | See recent Tubefilter News news »

Yahoo took a sheet from its own playbook in launching its newest original series today, What's So Funny? Having already found success with its crop of short TV recap series like its incredibly popular tentpole Primetime in No Time and its sister version Daytime in No Time, it seems only natural that there was more juice to be squeezed from this fruit. Where the others breezed through the hot reality shows and soaps, What's So Funny recaps selected comedy clips from the night before. Tapped for the hosting spots are comedian Mike Bachman, a former writer on Primetime in No Time, and Shira Lazar. Sponsoring the series for Yahoo is ConAgra Foods, with episodes featuring post-roll video and display ads and for a rotation of its brands like Marie Callendar's and Healthy Choice. Even within each 4-minute episode is a slightly forced, but bearable, "ingredients for good comedy" segment which »

Which of These (500) Days of Summer Men Got Engaged This Weekend?

9 November 2009 4:00 PM, PST | Movieline | See recent Movieline news »

Last night at the Behind the Camera Awards, before Joseph Gordon-Levitt went on to do a (500) Days of Summer pantomime with Zooey Deschanel, he was on the red carpet singing the praises of writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. (Gordon-Levitt also told us he hasn't started preparing for his upcoming stint hosting Saturday Night Live, but he can't wait until that very first meeting with the writers.) Still, despite the fun and excitement of taking home an award, one of three men had an even more momentous occasion to celebrate this weekend. »

AfterElton Briefs: "A Single Man" Gets De-Gayed, Hot Shirtless Boy Bands, "South Park", and more.

People are talking about precisely who Colin Firth wants to be in bed with.

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear. Yes, we're serious.

Above, you can see the one sheet for Tom Ford's A Single Man, which more than one blog is crying about the marketing being de-gayed. And not just gay blogs, because indieWIRE says the new trailer has also been de-gayed. It's not fresh news right now, but I'd like to thank reader Darrien for pointing out that Jan Moir was named Bigot Of the Year  by Stonewall in the U.K. after a last minute nomination for her hateful articles about Boyzone singer Stephen Gately. Adam Lambert was profiled by the L.A. Times yesterday and says he's more interested in being Beyonce than Daughtry. There are a stack of really good, funny »

Funny or Lame: Taylor Swift's SNL 'Twilight' Spoof

9 November 2009 2:44 PM, PST | Fandango | See recent Fandango news »

If you managed to catch Saturday Night Live over the weekend, then you probably watched this week's host, Taylor Swift, poke a little fun at Twilight in a parody trailer for a film called Firelight. Here, instead of a girl falling deeply in love with a vampire, Swift plays a girl who, aside from biting her lip, like, a lot, falls for Frankenstein. Oh yes, when "The Franks" invade a small town high school, things take a drastic turn for the weird as our heroine does all she can to keep her relationship with Frankenstein going without being accidentally strangled by her one true love. I thought the spoof was cute, and Swift definitely deserves kudos for turning out a pretty hilarious performance – not just in this video, but throughout the entire episode. But what do you...

January Jones and Jon Hamm Aren't Mad, Just Busy

Jon Hamm and January Jones were on the small screen together last night for the amazing Mad Men season finale, but they were off on separate voyages over the weekend. He grabbed a coffee Friday shortly after arriving at the airport in Vancouver, where he's set to work on Sucker Punch after filming The Town in Boston with Ben Affleck. January, meanwhile, kept her sexy cover girl look under wraps as she walked her dog before catching a flight from Lax yesterday afternoon. We'll soon see January leave Betty Draper behind when she tries on lots of new characters as the host of SNL next Saturday. View 15 Photos › To see more of January and Jon, just read more. 'Twilight' Spoofed By Taylor Swift In 'Firelight' On 'Saturday Night Live'

9 November 2009 11:00 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Where would the world be without "Saturday Night Live"? Where would "Twilight" parodies be? MTV Video Music Awards winner Taylor Swift hosted the sketch comedy show over the weekend, and she contributed to this hilarious send-up of "Twilight," entitled "Firelight." The elevator pitch: vampires are yesterday's news-- we're all about the Franks (short for Frankensteins) these days.

Imagine a world where this "Firelight" was a real movie. I can just picture a whole legion of Firelighters sending the wrong idea out across the world. In other words, it's a good thing -- for everyone -- that Stephenie Meyer's first book was called "Twilight."

'SNL': Liked Taylor Swift? Who else should host?

9 November 2009 10:17 AM, PST | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Yesterday, on his Watching TV blog, Ken Tucker noted with surprise that he found the Taylor Swift-hosted Saturday Night Live the show's best episode of the season. Commenters' reactions were truly a mixed bag. Some, like lei, loved Swift's performance ("[She's] the female Justin Timberlake of SNL – have her on often and it's a must watch"), while just as many reacted with outrage (Jonathan Juarbe: "She was horrendous and utterly painful to watch, oh and her voice…how is she making money!"). I thought Swift did an okay job -- her awkward Kate Gosselin impression was actually spot-on (though I »
