Fun Stuff

Trivia:
Bernard Cribbins would return to the Doctor Who franchise in 2007, starring as a recurring character, Wilfred Mott, in the fourth season of "Doctor Who" (2005). Unlike the movie, the TV series is considered canon by the BBC. more
Goofs:
Continuity: Observing the Dalek saucer, the Doctor notes that it seems to be landing in the vicinity of Sloane Square. There is then a lengthy shot in which it is shown to be continuing in level flight for what must be several miles over London (with no apparent intention of landing) before we finally get a close-up of it descending. more

An enjoyable yarn., 25 June 2000

I first saw this movie as a kid back in the 70's.It was screened as a saturday morning feature during the easter holidays. In those days it was the only 'repeat' you were likely to get.I can never understand the general disdain shown to it by Dr Who fans. The production values are high and there's plenty to keep you entertained.I think fans are critical of it because of its comical element.Yes it's cheap,ham-acted at times and the special effects not-very-special,but so was the tv series.I love this movie because of,not despite, its cheesiness.
