This episode was the first in a long time that I enjoyed, and loved.
For a while, the show was disappointing me, but I really loved this
episode. It was real, and the tragedy was real. But what I really loved
most was the character development and focus. From the beginning of the
episode, the characters showed growth -- they are really growing and
confronting their signature weaknesses. Especially Meredith, finally!!
We even saw a different side of Cristina. The show opened without all
the kvetching and complaining I'm so used to. (And of course it was
great to see Adele and the chief...) The characters are getting their
acts together -- Sloane, Meredith, Cristina, Izzy. And I love how the
therapist cuts the BS and tells it like it is, pushing aside Meredith's
usual rationalizations to make her grow up and see things as they are.
This episode made me a fan again.

It felt so disconnected. Miranda walking in with her baby.... what was
that about? What was up with Christine and the singing and why was
Lexie suddenly there with her? I know Christine spoke her mind in the
end, but it just seemed so out of character and disjointed. It felt
like they wrote a lot of topics for the show (The Chief and his Intern,
Burke and his award, Christine and her apparent melt down, Callie and
Dr. Hahn and their friendship, Dr. McSteamy being a whore, the tumor
research, Rose and Derrick, Merideth and her shrink..) and couldn't
settle on one to run with. I love Grey's and wouldn't think of missing
an episode, but I was disappointed with this one.
