How do you know that I love you? Because I am holding in my hands right now a brand new copy of the Us DVD release of classic UK sitcom Spaced, the first work of genius from the team that would go on to create Shaun of the Dead and The Hot Fuzz. This release is essentially the same as the three disc UK special edition release - which is to say, excellent - with the addition of a pair of commentary tracks featuring a stream of Us based special guests: Kevin Smith, Diablo Cody, Patton Oswalt, Matt Stone, Quentin Tarantino and Bill Hader. It’s tasty.
You want it? Well then you must : of the four member comedy outfit The League of Gentlemen two members have significant guest appearances on Spaced. Name the two who do not. You’ve got until August 1st.

Beating the ambitions of Quentin Tarantino to the punch by what looks to be an ultra-polished version of Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (complete with crazy camera angles, remote desert ranches, and busty gals kicking mighty man-butt) comes the not-nearly-as-great-titled, Bitch Slap. Here is hoping that director Rick Jacobson is not limited to just injecting Michael Bay-isms and modern speed-ramp cinematography into the mix, which this trailer implies.
Movies Online (the source of this trailer) also has a review up. They indicate there is a little bit of the old Memento reverse-narrative thing going on in there as well as a sampler of pop philosophy which (hopefully) tip the hand that ambitions go beyond simply remaking the film (although there are many recognizable Pussycat shots in the trailer). With the success of exploitation mish-mashes Grindhouse and Doomsday this stylishly shot updating of the Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill! ‘big-tits-and-sexy-violence’ grrrrl-power cult

In recent years the addition of Quentin Tarantino's name to a film's marketing has been a bit hit or miss, especially when it came to Hostel 2 and I am a bit weary of the upcoming Hell Ride. However, with the 1978 Italian World War II feature Inglorious Bastards it means something a little different, at least to me it does. Just imagine if you could pick the brain of your favorite directors and discuss what films inspired them and made them ever want to become directors in the first place. If you could sit down with Hitchcock, Scorsese, Fellini, Bergman or Spielberg, just imagine the lists of films you could obtain just by listening to the films that inspired their careers. While sitting down with Tarantino may seem to be a daunting thought, considering when you are talking about film this guy is a wild man, Inglorious Bastards is an

DVD Links: Release Dates | New Dvds | Reviews | RSS Feed Spaced: The Complete Series I am only three episodes into "Spaced" so I don't really feel comfortable giving you any kind of review of the show, but Domenic should have a full review for us very soon. The show is a BBC comedy series starring the likes of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and directed by Edgar Wright. For those of you that don't see those names and immediately get interested they are the boys behind Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. For those of you still drawing a blank I can do nothing more but feel sad for you. Everyone is ranting and raving about how excited they are the complete series is coming to DVD (two seasons worth) and looking at the back of the packaging I can tell you there are plenty of commentaries including guest

Rapper RZA is to step behind the camera and make his directorial debut - with the help of filmmaker pal Eli Roth
RZA got his first taste of Hollywood when he teamed up with Quentin Tarantino to provide the soundtracks and film scores for 2003's Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and 2004's Kill Bill: Vol. 2.
And now the Wu-Tang Clan star is to take the helm of new martial arts film The Man With The Iron Fist.
Director Eli Roth tells Billboard.com, "Yes, it is true. RZA's script is amazing. He has been studying and directing with Tarantino for years and he's really ready to get behind the camera.
"His impact on rap music and hip hop culture cannot be measured, and he's ready to add his own unique style and vision to the world of film. This movie will have everything martial arts fans could want, combined with RZA's superb musical talent."

You can take one look at this poster and incorrectly identify the setting of Sukiyaki Western Django. You'd think, judging by the appearance of the characters that this is either an punched up Old West story or that it takes place in the here and now. Well, I don't know when the Old West would have been in Japan, but you wouldn't ever say to yourself, "Oh cool, a story about The Genpei Wars of the 1100s!"
There are a couple reasons for that:
1) Just look at the characters
2) You've never heard of the Genpei Wars
But the battle for land control by rival gangs is more or less the same concept we would use in some American Westerns, so this detail works just fine for me. And yes, Quentin Tarantino does play a character named Ringo, which adds to the whole anachronistic environment.
Because of the concept, I'm a

Amazon.com posted today an October 28th release for Larry Bishop's Hell Ride, which was produced by Quentin Tarantino. Larry Bishop takes on a third role as Pistolero, head honcho of the Victors, a group of badass bikers who are out to avenge the murder of one of their members at the hands of the 666ers, a rival gang whose actions live up to their hellish moniker. Along with his cohorts, the Gent (deviously portrayed by Michael Madsen) and the mysterious Comanche (Eric Balfour), Pistolero aims to take down the Deuce and Billy Wings, menacing leaders of the 666ers, but a mutiny looms on the horizon when his commitment to profit is questioned by a few of his fellow Victors. An even larger story unravels when previously unknown information about Comanche resurrects ghosts from Pistoleros past.

Apparently the rumors of Brad Pitt's involvements in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards are very, very real as the director met with Pitt in France no Tuesday and five studios to be approached by Tarantino and Harvey Weinstien to handle offshore territories for the film are meeting with the expectation Tarantino will land Pitt for the role of Aldo Raine, the film's lead. Another new name has been added to the mix that is sure to sweeten the deal even more in the form of Leonardo DiCaprio, also up for a lead role named Hans Landa. The news is certainly riling up the media as this will be Tarantino's first film since Grindhouse flopped, despite glowing reviews, back in early 2007. Inglorious Bastards follows a band of U.S. soldiers facing death by firing squad for their misdeeds who are given a chance to redeem themselves by heading into the

I think news on Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards is not going to stop until the film eventually hits theaters next year. Everyone has jumped on this project as the next big WWII hit (even over Bryan Singer's Valkyrie), including myself, and the news just won't stop - from rumors to script reviews and beyond. The latest unconfirmed rumor regarding Inglorious Bastards includes both Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio as potential cast members. Apparently Pitt read the script quite early and has been talking with Tarantino, while DiCaprio is planning a meeting with him later this week to supposedly talk about the film. Although the script itself already sounded incredible so far, this film is definitely sounding better and better with each announcement - especially something like this... This latest rumor comes from Variety, which is quite interesting because they normally never mention rumors. They say that the producers,

In a press release sent out yesterday we learned that Showtime Networks Inc. has entered into an exclusive seven-year film distribution arrangement with The Weinstein Company. Oh boy right? Who gives a shit? Well, there are a couple of interesting tidbits in there, primarily the fact that The Weinstein Co. has now grabbed hold of Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards, Rob Marshall's Nine is now out of limbo, the remake of David Cronenberg's Scanners is getting the go, Alexandre Aja's Piranha 3-D has an official home (which it already did) and we learn there will be a Scream 4. Yup, that's right kiddies, they are setting out to "restart" the Scream franchise. Now before you get all up in arms as if this is the worst thing ever because the Scream movies got worse and worse and worse as they went on let me just say that

Coming Soon.net is reporting that Showtime Networks and The Weinstein Company have just announced that they have signed a seven-year deal for up to 95 films including Quentin Tarantino's latest Inglorious Bastards, Alex Aja's Piranha 3D and curiously enough... Scream 4. No word on any Wes Craven involvement at this point.
"In a move that enhances its slate of theatrical motion pictures, Showtime Networks Inc. has entered into an exclusive seven-year film distribution arrangement with The Weinstein Company (Twc)." (In other words, Showtime will get first dibs on premiering all of The Weinstein's upcoming theatrical releases when they hit cable.)
The press release continues, "The output deal also includes releases from Dimension Films such as "Youth In Revolt," based on C.D. Payne's bestselling book and starring Michael Cera, "6 Billion Dollar Man," the remake of David Cronenberg's "Scanners," re-starting the "Scream" franchise with "Scream 4," and "Piranha 3D.

Will the news on Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards ever cease? Right after our last update on the production earlier this week, news hit that Brad Pitt is being eyed for the lead and that Taratino is, in fact, keeping Bastards at The Weinstein Company (despite hope that he wouldn't considering their missteps with Grindhouse). Today is probably the best update of all, however, because Latino Review and Vulture scored copies of the script! Tarantino's Dirty Dozen-inspired WWII epic will follow eight Jewish soldiers sent behind enemy lines who are lead by Lt. Aldo Raine (the possible role for Pitt). To give you a sense of Tarantino's twisted tale, Raine tells his men: "Every man under my command, owes me, one hundred Nazi scalps. And I want my scalps. And all y’all will git me, one hundred Nazi scalps, taken from the heads of one hundred Nazi's or you

Watch the latest movie trailer from the upcoming film “Hell Ride” presented by Quentin Tarantino (Grindhouse) by director Larry Bishop and starring and starring Dennis Hopper, Michael Madsen, Larry Bishop and Vinnie Jones. Synopsis: Hell Ride is a raucous throwback to the days of the Sergio Leone spaghetti western, with a heaping helping of testosterone-fueled chopper action thrown into the mix. Writer/director Larry Bishop takes on a third role as Pistolero, head honcho of the Victors, a group of bad ass bikers who are out to avenge the murder of one of their members at the hands of the 666ers, a rival gang whose actions live up to their hellish moniker. There is something about all this that doesn't wash with me - actually, none of it seems to - but I'll lay it out for you the way I heard it: Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood reports that Quentin Tarantino is shopping his script for Inglorious Bastards to four of the big studios - Universal, Warner, Paramount, and Sony. It is also being reported that Tarantino wants Brad Pitt to star. From various sources, there is talk that Bastards will begin shooting in October will a 2009 Cannes premiere.
I'm calling bullshit.
Here's why: Three weeks ago, Tarantino was talking about how the script was getting so massive it would be two films. Now, suddenly, that project is just ready to go? It'll be shooting in three months, finished in nine? If there's one thing Quentin Tarantino has not been over the past 15 years, it's prolific. It takes him forever to write,

I considered posting this as a simple update to the Tarantino article I posted only an hour or so ago, but this is worthy of its own space. Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood is reporting confirmed information that Quentin Tarantino is seeking out Brad Pitt to star in Inglorious Bastards. Updating her previous information she also reports the four majors being sought after for financing and distribution are Universal, Warner Bros, Paramount and Sony. Tarantino sure does have a way with casting, it will be interesting to see how this pans out and who else he has in mind for his World War II feature.

So, we all seem to realize Quentin Tarantino is finally moving forward with Inglorious Bastards. He says he is done with the script and ready to rock. Then... out of nowhere... new casting rumors appear online, but not for Inglorious Bastards. Nope, this is for a rumored remake of the 1966 cult favorite Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! and the rumored name is none other than pornstar Tera Patrick. I didn't give the rumor much thought until today when it appeared in some gossip rag style manner on Variety. I hardly give this one any pause as it seems to glorify the life of Tera Patrick, a.k.a. college graduate, turned nurse, turned pornstar. The site quotes Patrick saying, "I am the first to admit I can't do this forever! I'd love to cross over and do more "regular movies." I think she is saying her pink taco is getting beat up and worn out.
