'Grey's Anatomy' Cast Unsure of Washington's Future

Isaiah Washington's Grey's Anatomy cast mates are keeping their distance as the disgraced actor battles his demons in rehab. The star was a no-show at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards, where his cast mates claimed a Best TV Ensemble, after checking into a treatment centre to address issues that reared up after he twice referred to gay co-star TR Knight as a "f****t." And while co-star Chandra Wilson offered her support to him during her Best Actress acceptance speech, other cast mates weren't quite so warm towards Washington. Katherine Heigl, who suggested the actor shouldn't be allowed to speak publicly after mentioning the 'f' word at a Golden Globe Awards backstage press conference earlier this month, was still chilly towards him. Of his SAG Awards absence, she said, "As far as we know, he's seeking treatment right now to help with some of his issues. We don't know when he'll be back, or for how long." After publicly apologizing for his remarks, Washington checked into a residential treatment facility last week in a bid to keep his job on the medical drama, according to news reports in America.

Attorney Recommends Manslaughter Charge for Brandy

The Los Angeles City Attorney is recommending R&B star Brandy is charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter for her part in a December freeway pile-up, which left one woman dead. The singer, full name Brandy Norwood, reportedly failed to see traffic slowing in front of her while driving along the 405 freeway on December 30, and collided with a Toyota in front of her. The collision set off a chain of accidents which left Awatef Aboudihaj - the driver of the car Brandy hit, dead. Brandy recently issued a public apology as a fellow motorist involved in the crash revealed the singer admitted fault at the scene. The R&B star was not arrested, but Los Angeles police officials, who have spent the last month investigating the crash, handed the matter over to prosecutors last week.

Heche Speaks Out About Tupper Relationship

Actress Anne Heche has spoken out about her relationship with James Tupper - but has refused to confirm she is dating her Men In Trees co-star. Heche, 37, split from her husband of five years Coleman Laffoon earlier this month, and she has been linked to Tupper in the US media ever since. The 37-year-old admitted she has "chemistry" with Tupper on TV show Entertainment Tonight Sunday. She said, "We have a beautiful relationship. I think people like to read a lot into the chemistry we have on the show, and I think it's fantastic. We have a lot of chemistry. We love each other, we're like a family here, we all go out on the weekends. I'm obviously going through something personal in my life, and I don't know what is going to happen in the future." A spokesperson for Tupper confirms he split from his wife Kate in November last year.

Stiller & Johansson Land Hasty Puddings

Night at the Museum star Ben Stiller and Scoop actress Scarlett Johansson have been announced as the recipients of this year's Hasty Pudding awards, handed out by students at Harvard University. The pair will be honored with a fancy dress parade, followed by a performance by Harvard's student drama group, in which they'll take part. Johansson will be feted on February 15, while funnyman Stiller will be honored at a ceremony on February 23. The annual awards are given to performers who have made a "lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment." Last year's Hasty Pudding recipients were Halle Berry and Richard Gere.

'Ugly Betty' Star Jensen Weds in Secret

Ugly Betty actress Ashley Jensen wed her fiance Terence Beesley in a secret ceremony last week. The happy couple - who had dated for seven years - exchanged vows after eloping to a forest in Big Sur, California last Monday to get married on Jansen's day off. Speaking to US publication People, Jensen says the wedding was a "beautiful, beautiful magical wedding. It was brilliant. It was in a forest. It was about our marriage. We didn't want to be worried about napkins, you know? It was about us. I fortunately had an episode off. I didn't have to go to work (and) I thought, 'Lets seize the moment.' I'm the luckiest girl!"

Helen Mirren can't stop winning acting honors - now she's claimed Best Actress at the American Association of Retired People (AARP) Magazine's Movies for Grown-Ups Awards. The British star of The Queen joins Donald Sutherland (Best Actor for Aurora Borealis), Clint Eastwood (Best Director for Flags Of Our Fathers & Letters From Iwo Jima) and Little Miss Sunshine (Best Comedy for Grown-Ups) among the recipients of AARP awards, which will be handed out by Kathy Bates and Martin Sheen in Beverly Hills on February 6. 'Volver' and 'Pan's Labyrinth' Triumph at Goya Awards

Pedro Almodovar's Volver picked up five honors at the Goya Awards in Madrid, Spain last night, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress for Penelope Cruz. The movie, which had received 14 nominations, also won Best Original Soundtrack for Alberto Iglesias. On collecting her Best Actress award, Cruz said, "This award is very important, very special for me. I am going to try not to cry because I'm a disaster, and these 30 seconds are not going to be enough." Pan's Labyrinth, which is nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at next month's Oscars, collected the most awards - seven in total, including Best Original Screenplay for Mexican writer/director Guillermo Del Toro. Del Toro said, "My relationship with Spain as a filmmaker is one of profound admiration and respect... that began with the hand of Pedro (Almodovar)." Elsewhere, Juan Diego won Best Actor for Vete De Mi, while Stephen Frears' The Queen won Best European film.

Bisexual Loken Plans a Family

Bisexual Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines star Kristanna Loken is planning to become a mom - and already has a sperm donor who has offered to father the child. The 27-year-old actress, who recently appeared on The L Word and has been romantically linked with former Lost star Michelle Rodriguez, has motherhood on her mind. She says, "I would definitely like to have a family, and whether that's with a man or a woman doesn't really matter to me. I've already got my friend who's going to be the donor, so that's taken care of. Just give me a few years and we'll go from there."

Jermaine Jackson Wants Michael To Become a Muslim

Michael Jackson is considering converting to Islam, after his brother Jermaine Jackson convinced him the religion will change his life for the better. Jermaine credits his faith with helping him cope on British reality show Celebrity Big Brother. The 52-year-old says, "If I didn't have Allah and my prayer rug, I would not have survived, and the reason why is because it kept me focused, it kept me calm. Michael, I feel, needs to become a Muslim because I think it's a great protection for him from all the things that he's been attacked with, which are false. There's a strength and a protection there. I brought him a lot of books, and he reads everything and he reads a lot. I think he's probably given it serious thought because he's spent a lot of time in Bahrain. I was the reason why he had gone there because I wanted him to get out of America and just go somewhere peaceful and quiet, where people pray five times a day. It's a beautiful thing."

Bass & Lehmkuhl Split for Good

Former 'N Sync star Lance Bass and his boyfriend Reichen Lehmkuhl have ended their on/off romance. The couple split late last year but reunited over Christmas and were recently spotted at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah together. But now Bass confirms he's single again, insisting he and his ex aim to be just good friends. He tells People magazine, "We broke up last week, but we're really good friends." Bass came out in People last summer after falling for the former model-turned-reality TV star.
