Penn Died "Natural Death"

American actor Chris Penn died of what appear to be natural causes, according to the Los Angeles County Coroners Office - though the exact cause of death is still yet to be determined. The younger brother of Oscar-winner Sean Penn was found dead at his Santa Monica, California, condominium on Tuesday. Morticians carried out an autopsy yesterday and found no signs of foul play, although they are yet to determine the exact cause of death. Spokesperson Lieutenant Cheryl MacWillie says, "It appears to be a natural death." Examiners are believed to have linked Penn's weight to his baffling death - he weighed more than 270 pounds - and standard toxicology tests have been ordered. Santa Monica Police Department spokesman Lieutenant Frank Fabrega has confirmed there will be no homicide investigation.

Angelina's Baby "Boy" Shows Up on Tabloid

A sonogram picture purporting to be Angelina Jolie's baby has shown up on the front of American tabloid National Enquirer after being pulled from auction website eBay. The item, which was listed as "Angelina Jolie's 4-5 month fetus sonogram picture," was pulled from the website earlier this month after eBay bosses decided it "violated their policy on celebrity materials." But now the sonogram is on the front of the Enquirer and the mag's editors claim the grainy image shows Jolie and boyfriend Brad Pitt are expecting a boy. But Pitt's publicists are determined to debunk the sonogram and the story as a hoax - even though Jolie's name appears officially in the top left hand corner of the image. A spokesperson for Pitt says, "It's all a hoax. I have checked it carefully. I'm not going to tell you how I know, but I'm very comfortable in saying it's not their baby." Bosses at online gambling firm Golden Palace claim to have bought the sonogram for $3,800 after contacting the person who initially put the image up on eBay. The gambling site bosses also recently paid $25,000 for actor William Shatner's kidney stone.

Anderson Loses Battle Over Sanders Statue

Pamela Anderson has lost her bid to get the bust of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) founder Colonel Harland Sanders removed from the state Capitol building. Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher has written to the actress/model explaining the bust will stay put, despite Anderson's claim that Sanders is a symbol of cruelty to chickens. In his letter, Fletcher wrote, "Colonel Sanders remains a Kentucky icon. His success story has been an inspiration to many. The industry he began has employed hundreds of thousands of workers over the years. His business and his legacy have been good for Kentucky." Anderson has fired back at Fletcher, calling Sanders' company one "that mutilates God's creatures." The actress has teamed up with animal activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to urge fast food fans to boycott KFC until the company agrees to clean up its slaughterhouse policies.

Monaghan and Lilly Planning Family?

Lost co-stars Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lilly may be planning to start a family when the hit TV show reaches its conclusion. The desert island castaways have been dating for over a year after meeting on the Hawaiian set of JJ Abrams ratings-winning drama, and British actor and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring star Monaghan is convinced he has found his "muse" in Lilly. He says, "We'll see where I'm at, at the end of Lost. Maybe one or two children of my own, and then what I really hope to do is adopt - perhaps a bunch of them."

Crowe's Baby Offered Honorary Citizenship in France

Actor Russell Crowe and his wife Danielle Spencer's second child hasn't even been born yet, but a small French town is offering the baby honorary citizenship after hearing reports the baby was conceived there. The Oscar-winning actor was in France filming A Good Year with Gladiator director Ridley Scott last year, and locals in Bonnieux feel sure the baby was conceived there. And Crowe hinted the French are correct at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony last week, when he confirmed reports his wife was expecting. He said, "She's (Danielle) due in July, so it's a French conception." The mayor of Bonnieux, a hilltop village in Southern France, was delighted by the rumors and has invited the couple to return. He says, "It would give us great pleasure if one day, during a trip to France, they stop by Bonnieux so we can make their baby an honorary citizen."

Thompson in Pie-Throwing Fracas

Actress Emma Thompson sparked a pie-throwing melee during her appearance on talk show Late Show With David Letterman Tuesday night when she hurled a creamy dessert at the veteran host. The Howards End Oscar-winner threw a pie at co-star Angela Lansbury in her latest film, Nanny McPhee, and was explaining to Letterman what the experience was like. She recalls, "Proudest moment of my acting career, really. I didn't know that pie-throwing was so cathartic. It's heaven throwing pies. But they have to have weight to them - heavy cream." Letterman stunned the actress by producing a cream pie and challenged her to test her skills by throwing a pie at his face. The shocked actress stood up, took aim and threw, managing to cover half of the host's face with the pie, while the show's house band played Rule Britannia in the background. Thompson set off a chain reaction of cream pie throwing involving bandleader Paul Shaffer, the show's announcer and a cue card holder, which ended with Thompson herself getting a pie in the face from Letterman.

Tough Turner Fights Arthritis

Kathleen Turner was so determined to take to the stage for the upcoming London production of Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? she underwent painful surgery on an arthritis-riddled foot. The actress has battled the disease, which causes inflammation of the lining of the joints, for years - but she refused to let it stop her from reviving the role she performed to critical acclaim on Broadway in New York. She says, "Although I am in remission at the moment, I still hurt most of the time. I recently had an operation to free up a joint in my left foot just so I could appear on stage here in London and the relief afterwards was incredible. Appearing on stage is physically demanding, but being an actor is what I do and the last thing I want is to give that up. This disease won't kill you, but it will kill your life if you let it, and that I will not allow."

Parker and Broderick Developing Play About Gossip

Former Sex & The City star Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick are hoping to star together in a play about celebrity gossip on the Broadway stage. Don't Follow Me, I'm Lost, Too features a husband-and-wife team who write gossip columns for a New York City tabloid. Parker has been looking for a play for her and her husband to star in since her Sex And The City stint ended. A theatre executive says, "She's been saying to producers and theatre owners, 'Find us a play!'" Parker took part in a staged reading of the play on Monday which was attended by a select group of Broadway insiders. Broderick's schedule didn't allow him to attend the reading, but Tony-winning actor Alan Cumming stepped in to read opposite the actress. In the comedic play, written by Douglas Carter Beane, the couple create non-existent celebrities who attend non-existent parties. Things begin to spin out of control when movie studios try to track down the fake celebrities to star in films. Beane says, "It's all about the wonderful world of tabloid journalism and celebrity culture."

Foxx Back On Top

Jamie Foxx's chart-topping tussle with Mary J. Blige continues this week as the Oscar winner topples the R&B queen from the number one spot in the US album charts. Foxx's debut album Unpredictable spent two weeks at the top of the charts earlier this month after taking over from Blige's The Breakthrough, but the soul diva returned to number one. Foxx's album sold just 97,000 copies in its fifth week of release to claim the top spot on the Billboard chart. Blige's The Breakthrough fell to number two with 95,000 CDs sold. Meanwhile, British singer James Blunt has cracked the US top 10 - his Back To Bedlam debut climbed to number nine on the new chart.

Jackson's Fashion Faux Pas

Michael Jackson has made a fashion faux pas as he attempts to integrate into Bahraini culture - he has started wearing an abaya robe, which is traditionally worn by Muslim women. The Thriller hitmaker has been living in the Middle Eastern nation since he was acquitted of child molestation charges in his native America last June. Earlier this week, Jackson was photographed leaving the Marina Mall in the Bahrain capital Manama, with his three children, whose faces were covered with dark scarves. While Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II had just their faces covered, the superstar was dressed head to toe in the loose, black abaya, traditionally favored by Muslim women in Arab regions. In November, Jackson caused a media storm when he entered the ladies toilets in a shopping mall. His representative later explained the singer did not understand the Arabic sign and mistook the bathroom for the men's. Recently, reports suggested Jackson is set to become a property consultant with Bahraini firm AAJ Holdings Ltd.
