Cagney and Lacey reunite on first Burn Notice of 2010

4 hours ago | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

Have you received all your Christmas gifts? Would you like one more? Okay, here it is, when Burn Notice returns for the winter season on January 21, the first episode will include guest star Tyne Daly. That's right, Tyne will be reuniting with her Cagney & Lacey co-star Sharon Gless. This is will be the first of seven new Burn Notices till next summer.

There's another Cagney & Lacey story in the news. CSI creator Anthony Zuiker wants to revive the show for CBS. For those who don't recall, Cagney & Lacey was the top female cop drama of the 1980's -- actually of all time. It was a serious police drama, unlike something jiggly like Charlie's Angels or safe and pedestrian like Police Woman.

The Chaser's War on the Stig

5 hours ago | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

Even though the mystery of The Stig has been revealed both in the TV world and the real world, Top Gear's tame racing driver still has an aura of mystery and notoriety about him. So why not exploit it for personal gain and/or goods and services?

Willmore2000, one of our many bleary-eyed TV lovers, told us to check out The Stig's image being exploited for personal gain by The Chaser's War on Everything, a great Australian satirical prank show that used to get a good deal of airtime on G4 until they realized that original programming that doesn't involve forcing people to vomit on camera does not belong on their network.

All Annie wants for Festivus

7 hours ago | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

Ooh! Is it that time of year again when I get to ask for things and then receive none of them? Fantastic.

Okay, I don't ask for very much each Festivus, but all my choices are very carefully made. I'll even put aside my desperate need to hang out with The Roots for a day or wish to surgically replace my own legs with those of Blake Lively. I can work on all that stuff next year. For 2009, these are all I want for Festivus!

Top TV Stories of 2009: The Jay Leno Experiment

8 hours ago | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

For better or worse, 2009 was inevitably going to go down as the season that NBC changed the game. If not the face of television, they certainly changed their own face. And this was before they got bought out by Comcast. The jury's still out on whether or not it was a good move, with early returns mixed.

It looks like NBC had three problems kicking around their heads. First up was what to do about Jay Leno. They'd already promised his gig on The Tonight Show to Late Night host Conan O'Brien back in 2004, and yet Leno remained doggedly at number one in the late night ratings war. "What if he defects to ABC and takes his sizable audience with him?" they worried.

Pioneering Sports Machine host George Michael dies at 70

9 hours ago | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

One of television's biggest sports names long before people cared about the people who talked about sports on television has died.

George Michael, the sportscaster and longtime host of the nationally syndicated George Michael's Sports Machine, succumbed to a long battle with cancer on Thursday.

To call him ahead of his time would be an understatement. He basically invented the hyper clip style format of shows like Espn's SportsCenter, brought a great deal of personality to TV sports reporting and sportscasting and even inspired and mentored the likes of Pardon the Interruption's Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon.

17 hours ago | TVGuide - Breaking News | See recent TVGuide - Breaking News news »

Does anyone have security anymore? As if the White House party crashers weren't bad enough, a woman toppled the Pope before Christmas Eve mass at the Vatican on Thursday.

Amateur footage, which you can see below, caught an unidentified woman jumping over a barrier inside St. Peter's Basilica as she attempted to tackle Pope Benedict XVI. The woman was immediately taken into custody by guards, MSNBC reported.

The Pope was unhurt and managed to get back on his feet and lead Midnight Mass, which was actually held two hours earlier to accommodate the Pope's wish to go to bed early.

My DVR is going to be pissed by its upcoming workload…

According to Gallifrey One, BBC America will air David Tennant's entire run as The Doctor from midnight on New Year's Day till 10pm/9c on January 2nd. The marathon will lead up to the premiere of the second part of The End of Time, Tennant's last outing as the tenth Doctor in the long running science fiction series. Also being shown is a David Tennant special that will celebrate the Tennant years of the new incarnation of Doctor Who.

Talk about having a Merry Christmas!!!!

In other Doctor Who news, it has been reported that Series Five of Doctor Who will be called "Series One" for the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) and new showrunner Steve Moffat. I don't know what to think about that move, but I will »

Top Moments of 2009

22 hours ago | TVGuide - Breaking News | See recent TVGuide - Breaking News news »

What were our top moments of the year? The video below includes just a few. We salute that brave social activist, Kanye West, for standing up for the rights of the tragically ignored Beyonce. We collectively held our breath as a giant silver balloon, purportedly with a 6-year-old child inside, floated over the American heartland. Another nail-biter, this one fictional, ended Lost's fifth season, as Juliet bashed a nuclear bomb with a rock, potentially killing the show's entire cast.

Check out these top moments in the video after the jump, then see many more in our Best of 2009 and Best of the Decade sections.
