It took nearly ten years but the men behind Sexy Beast are back and their follow-up follows in the footsteps of their first film, a macho experience which is bound to leave audiences flabbergasted. If one manages to get over the often mumbled lines and the million miles a minute swearing, viewers are likely to discover a film with something to say but will it alienate a huge chunk the audience before getting there?
A sort of The Big Kahuna for the gangster wannabe, 44 Inch Chest stars Ray Winstone as Colin Diamond, a man who has had a bad day. His wife just broke his heart by leaving him for another man (though not before a confrontation that leaves their home in shambles) and Colin has retreated into himself. He »
Will Santa frag everyone Lobo style? Teaser for feature length Rare Exports
10 hours ago
So admittedly I've never watched the short film Rare Exports Inc. (available in full here) or it's short sequel which this is based on, but I've heard a lot of good things (and learned I don't have 7 minutes to spare) which is why I'm excited to see this first footage, and although it doesn't give us much, I'm seriously hoping they find the original Santa and he comes out and starts killing everyone, Lobo style!
In the depths of the Korvatunturi mountains, 486 metres deep, lies the closest ever guarded secret of Christmas. The time has come to dig it up!
Teaser (with English subs) after the break.

Our own agentorange loved 2033 and called it an "allegorically rich dystopian adventure" in his review. It's played in Lund, and will be playing at more film festivals coming soon along with premiering in Mexican cinemas come February, so be sure to check it out!
It is the year 2033 in Mexico City, now called Villaparaiso (Paradise City). A military government controls society, taking from it its religious faith and freedom of expression. The main characters are Pablo and a “hidden” priest, known as Father Miguel, who transforms his life. »
Strigoi writer/director Faye Jackson talks Vampires, gore FX and Romanian folklore
12 hours ago
Faye Jackson fields some questions from projectcyclops about her first feature film, a horror/thriller/mystery about the Romanian myth of the Strigoi. You can read his review here.
How did you become interested in the Strigoi myth? Before seeing your film I’d never heard of it, and the Internet has so many convoluted and alternative descriptions of what Strigoi really are. Was that part of the attraction?
I’d never heard of the Strigoi myth until I went to Romania (my husband’s Romanian and I’ve visited a lot over the past 10 years).
I was researching the origins of Dracula out of curiosity and became interested in the folklore stories that appear to have inspired Stoker. I immediately loved the accounts I read of Strigoi. In particular I remember reading a story about a guy burying an uncle only to go home and find him sitting in his favourite chair, »
