Trailer for Ridley Scott's 'Robin Hood' now online

The first teaser trailer for Ridley Scott's upcoming new version of "Robin Hood" has landed online, and you should check it out after the jump. My first thoughts: this doesn't look all that bad at all!

Scott's "Robin Hood" stars Russell Crowe and chronicles the life of the famous expert archer, previously interested only in self-preservation, from his service in King Richard's army against the French.

Upon Richard’s death, Robin travels to Nottingham, a town suffering from the corruption of a despotic sheriff and crippling taxation, where he falls for the spirited widow Lady Marion (Cate Blanchett). »

67th Annual Golden Globes Nominations

I don't particularly care about the Golden Globes much, but the 67th annual Globes ceremony is coming up soon, so here is a quick summary of this year's nominations. Any big surprises? Not exactly.

Best drama: "Avatar," "The Hurt Locker," "Inglourious Basterds," "Up in the Air" and "Precious: Based on the novel 'Push' by Sapphire" all made the cut. I'm glad to see "Avatar" is a part of the race.

In the best musical or comedy category, "Nine," "Julie & Julia," "The Hangover," "(500) Days of Summer" and "It's Complicated" earned a nomination. I bet "Julie & Julia" could win this thing, but you never know... »

Enjoy this new "Clash of the Titans" trailer while you can, because I hear it's not really supposed to be online yet for folks to check it out. Needless to say, as you can see after the jump, this one sure looks epic.

New hilarious 'Kick-Ass' clip and teaser poster

14 December 2009 3:14 PM, PST

I haven't had a chance yet to get to my list of most anticipated films of 2010, but Matthew Vaughn's superhero action comedy will certainly be on it. Check out a new clip and poster right after the jump.

The film follows a boring high school student (played by Aaron Johnson) who attempts to become a real-life superhero named Kick-Ass but runs into several troubles because of his poor physique.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse plays a villain, but Kick-Ass has some help in his battle against crime, including Hit-Girl, played by Chloe Moretz. Also starring is Nicolas Cage, who can be seen in the poster below. »

American Film Institute picks 10 best films of 2009

13 December 2009 7:29 PM, PST

The American Film Institute picks the 10 best films of the year each year, and the 2009 list isn't that surprising: acclaimed dramas "The Hurt Locker," "Up in the Air" and "Precious" all made the cut.

In my book, there is one surprise though: "Coraline." The AFI also picked "Up," but it looks like they weren't that impressed with Wes Anderson's "Fantastic Mr. Fox," which I clearly preferred to "Coraline."

Also, you won't see James Cameron's "Avatar" on this list. Instead, the selection includes "The Hangover" (which I adored as well), "The Messenger," "Sugar," "A Serious Man" and "A Single Man." »
