McConville Gets Behind the Wheel of The Car
20 hours ago
Now that his supernatural thriller Deadline has finally hit DVD, writer-director Sean McConville is revving up The Car .
Nope, it's not a remake of the 1977 film - and I suspect a title change is forthcoming to avoid confusion - instead, it's another supernatural yarn about a kid, fresh out of the psychiatric hospital, who begins restoring a Pontiac Gto. He's paid an unexpected visit by the ghost of a young woman who was killed in the car and she convinces him to kill the four men who murdered her.
Elements of Stephen King's "Christine" (the novel and the film) are apparent in the full synopsis which you can find at the official website. There you'll also find a teaser trailer McConville whipped up.

Meet Max Sender's Christopher Roth
Writer-director Max Sender is in post-production on the new thriller Christopher Roth .
Joaquim De Almeida ( Desperado ) plays the eponymous role and, to be honest, there's little we know about the film other than what we can glean from the Italian production's Facebook page and official site . The former has a number of behind-the-scenes stills and some footage from the last day of shooting.
Ben Gazzara ("Jackie Treehorn" from The Big Lebowski ) co-stars with Anna Galiena. The film's tagline goes like this: It's hard to resist that little thrill you feel right before you go beyond the imaginary and "flirt" with reality.
Right-o. Could this be a Mr. Brooks -esque thriller? We'll do some digging and see if we can drum up some more details....

Two Monstrous Daybreakers Street Posters
As if to say, "forget today's glamorous version of vampires," Lionsgate is wallpapering Los Angeles with these new one-sheets for Daybreakers . I'm working on getting clear hi-res versions of these, but I had to take a pic while out for my coffee run.
The Spierig Bros. film hits theaters on January 8 and no, you're not going to see the vampires in this one sparkle. Here, they've taken over the world and are running low on blood. Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill, Willem Dafoe, Claudia Karvan and Christopher Kirby star.

Robert Englund, Michael Madsen, Junio Valverde, Amaia Salamanca and Estella Warren are going to star in Web Cam 3D for Spanish filmmaker Antoni Sole next year.
The story tells of a man (take your guess: Englund or Madsen) who invites a group of teens to a party. He films their exploits inside a house via web cams and asks those tuning in to the bash on the internet to vote for who will live and who will die.

Teen Wolf Redo Finds His Pack
The quartet Tyler Posey, Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed and Dylan O'Brien are set to star in MTV's remake of the 1985 comedy Teen Wolf .
The pilot is being written by Jeff Davis ( Criminal Minds ) and is the network's further push for original (ahem, using the word loosely) content. In October, it produced the slasher film My Super Psycho Sweet 16 .
According to THR, the story "revolves around Scott McCall (Posey), a dorky high-school student who gets a rush of new powers, including the ability to attract girls, after a wolf attack."
Okay, the cast is in place, but who's directing? MTV hasn't let that cat out of the bag...yet.
