Jessica Powers was born in Memphis, Tennessee where she grew up and lived for 18 years. At Collierville High School, she took what she thought was going to be a throw away course, Television Studio. But her interest in filmmaking, moreso in the actual process, was peaked. She went on to Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, first majoring in audio production but soon switching to video production. She has since directed a few short films, Chosen (2004/II) being the most prominent on the list.
