50 Cent Suing Hip-Hop Website For Using His Image Without Permission

13 November 2009 12:01 AM, PST | icelebz.com | See recent iCelebz news »

Rapper superstar 50 Cent is suing a hip-hop website for using his image without permission. The "In Da Club" hitmaker has filed a lawsuit against WorldStarHipHop.com for allegedly using his pictures on its homepage.

The hip-hop star, real name Curtis Jackson, told Atlanta's V103 radio station in an interview that he filed a suit against the website for copyright infringement.

He said, "A lot of people feel like that was my site coz they see my face on the cover."

"But Q (Wshh founder), you see, you should really be nice to me. Because you're not nice to me, I'm not nice. I have lawyers on retainers and I have to pay them so much money anyway, so we'll go back and forth to court until [they] can't afford a subway sandwich."

50 Cent Wants To Star In A Rom-Com

5 November 2009 11:26 AM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

What a fantastic world to live in where being lackluster at something makes you millions of dollars. I guess that's how much of Hollywood works, but 50 Cent makes a fortune being subpar at several things. He's a lame rapper. He's a lame actor. He's a lame clothing designer. He's even a lame gangster. Yet, somehow he's financially successful at each of these things. Curtis Jackson hopes to bring his mediocre acting skills to something that's already mediocre: the romantic comedy. Talking to Glamour, the rapper expressed his interest in starring in a rom-com. "I'd do a romantic comedy if I liked the script," he said. "But it has to be believable and I have to feel I can bring the character to life." Imagine that. 50 Cent in The Proposal as Sandra Bullock's assistant. I'd be all over that. What exactly 50 means by "believable" isn't clear. He could either mean »

His new cologne, Power by 50 Cent, is in stores now. Fif, dressed in a sports coat, addressed the crowd, telling them he always wanted to have his own fragrance.

"The fragrance Power was an idea I came up with," 50 said before the event started. "I wanted to offer confidence. I wanted to make something that smells like success. We went through a whole lot of different ideas. I created storyboards, things I felt was representation of power. It turned into the actual shape of the bottle, if you look at the top. The details »

50 Cents did Dead Man Running because of Brenda Blethyn

4 November 2009 1:29 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

50 Cent only signed up for 'Dead Man Running' because of Brenda Blethyn.

The 'Crimewave' rapper said he was assured of the quality of the film when he found out the 63-year-old 'Atonement' actress would be cast alongside him in the British gangster film.

He said: "I only go for films which have a certain level of artistic integrity and I knew I would be safe in Brenda's company."

Brenda, meanwhile, has said she has enjoyed the boost to her "street cred".

She added: "My street cred has rocketed since I have been in a film with 50 cent."

The rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - also said his greatest character to date has been his aggressive rap persona, and added that people are always surprised by how polite he is in the flesh.

He added: "People say, 'wow he was so nice!' when I come around and there's normalcy. »

No more delays. 50 Cent is actually releasing his Before I Self Destruct LP earlier than expected. After the LP leaked last week, Fif called into satellite radio station Shade 45's "The Gomez Brothers" show on Saturday to announce that instead of November 23, he'd drop the album on November 16.

"I feel good that it was leaked in its entirety, in sequence, so people can hear my vision," said 50, whose "Baby by Me" video premiered on Monday. "Instead of pieces, where I would be like, 'Damn, I spent my time sequencing.'

"I'm pushing the record up, so the album release date is the 16th," he added. "I'm expecting [the album] to do good because of the response that I've heard on the Web. It's obvious they didn't expect me to »

If at first you don't succeed, try, try (and try and try and try) again.

It took five attempts before 50 Cent and producer Polow Da Don could finally lock into a studio session together for the G-Unit superstar's "Baby by Me" track, but once they connected, their chemistry was instant. Polow said Fif knew right away they had a hot one on their hands.

"He came in the studio, we had some time set up — we had, like, five sessions; the other four fell through," Polow told MTV News. "The fifth one, we got together, he came in and that was the first joint I played him. He said, 'That's a hit record.' "

50 Cent 'wishes he went to business school'

29 October 2009 12:38 AM, PDT | Digitalspy | See recent digitalspy news »

50 Cent has revealed that he wishes he had gone to business school in his youth. The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, has built a $$432m (£270m) empire since finding worldwide fame in 2003, but claimed that he would rather have developed his business acumen in school than by dealing drugs on the street. Wonderwall quotes him as saying: "I have people in my neighbourhood where I grew up [that] in order to expand their business, they wouldn't rule out killing the competition. "I now hang out with people in corporate America who absolutely have those intentions for their competitors, but they don't have the physical act of killing them as part of the strategy. Two different routes, but they want the same outcome. If (more) »

50 Cent insists that despite publicly expressing "disappointment" in Fabolous recently over Twitter comments, the two have no problems.

"Yeah, we're cool," 50 said recently on the set of his video for "Baby by Me." "Fab particularly is an artist I've interacted with twice. He's [opened] two international runs [for the G-Unit]. It wasn't specifically to try and help him broaden his international presence, but obviously it would help for him to be there and be in front of the audience internationally and put his best foot forward first. Give a good show and people become Fabolous fans at that point."

What do you do when you’re sent a promotional trailer for the largest gathering of action hero’s in a long, long time? Why you publish it of course!

The new promotional trailer for the Sylvester Stallone written/directed action-fest, The Expendables is online – and we have a copy for you right here!

Starring the aforementioned Mr. Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, Danny Trejo, Charisma Carpenter, “Stone ColdSteve Austin, Curtis Jackson, Brittany Murphy and David Zayas, the film promises to be an explosive (if not entertaining) thrill ride.

The footage I fear, paints a slightly different picture, with cheesy one-liners (text messages anyone?) and some shaky looking acting, but I still hold high hopes for this film – and will likely do so until opening night!

New York — 50 Cent looks part demon, part battle-scarred Terminator on the cover of his upcoming LP Before I Self Destruct. The artwork shows a close-up of 50's face with the skin burning off, and underneath, there's a fiery skull.

"The album cover, I sat there and thought about it," Fif explained Saturday during his ThisIs50 Music Festival on Governors Island. "I wanted to do something that was completely different than I've ever done. The Curtis album, I was pretty close in the camera when I done it. I felt it was intimate. This project is even more [intimate], but it's harder. I didn't sugarcoat things. My imperfections are visible on there. I'm in a secure enough space. ... It's a huge gape in hip-hop. »
